Barrel Cannon switches are objects in Donkey Kong Bananza. They resemble the top part of barrels and feature a glowing Dive Punch symbol. When Donkey Kong is far away from one, the barrel-like portion retracts into its metal base. Dive Punching into one has the barrel portion quickly retract and place Donkey Kong in a Barrel Cannon above the switch. Once Donkey Kong is launched from or exits this Barrel Cannon, the Barrel Cannon switch returns to its default state. Barrel Cannon switches typically appear at the start of sublayers, excluding the first sublayer, so that Donkey Kong can return to above sublayers. The Landfill Layer features Barrel Cannon switches in its Lower Pit and Middle Pit, both of which are in the layer's first sublayer. The Hilltop Layer's Undertone Canal and the Radiance Layer's Glow Stone Warehouse have similar exceptions.
Attacking a Barrel Cannon switch without using a Dive Punch instead causes the barrel portion to shake slightly.
