The Radiance Layer is the thirteenth layer visited in the Underground World of Donkey Kong Bananza, occupying sublayers 1200 to 1204. It is mostly made up of sandy caves, though it also features a small desert. Glow Stone can commonly be found in all of the sublayers, and it is populated by snakes.
Poppy Kong and Grumpy Kong serve as the layer's two bosses.

Banandium Gems[edit]

There are a total of eighty-eight Banandium Gems (seventy regular gems and six bunches of 3) in the Radiance Layer. During Donkey Kong's first visit to this layer, he can collect sixty-two Banandium Gems and five bunches of 3 Gems. After Donkey Kong defeats King K. Rool in New Donk City and collects at least 600 Banandium Gems, eight more Gems and another bunch of 3 Gems become available to collect as part of the Snake Elder's Rehearsal.

- Saga of the Exploritone, Verse 20: The moment we arrived, we sunk deep into the soft sands... We do not know how many years we spent immobile there. But eventually, we felt a tapping on our head. A long, tubelike creature had mistaken us for ore and was attempting to dig us out with its tools. This "snake," as it called itself, apologized profusely for its error and set about making amends. Lacking the arms or legs that other creatures possess, the snake used its tail to deftly extricate us from the sand.
- Saga of the Exploritone, Verse 21: After following a long, snakelike path, the landscape suddenly opened up… Before us was a glowing lake…but not truly a lake. Instead, it was light-refracting rocks that filled the grotto floor. The snakes told us they chisel off pieces of these rocks and use them to make light fixtures. Enlightening!
- Ssscenic Viewpoint, Constrictor Corridor: This magnificent hall featuresss some of our finessst glass work and boasts a roof fessstooned with gold. It's something of a sssecret, but this corridor also sssnakes its way to the passage that leads underground.
- Ssscenic Viewpoint, Sidewinder Slide: This art installation is ssshaped like a giant sssnake tail and reaches deep down into the Radiance Layer. We had hoped to extend the sssnake tail as a way to reach the lower sublayers... Sssadly, that plan was abandoned. Ssstill, one might catch a glimpse of those lower areas through the windows built into the ssslide's outer walls.
- Saga of the Exploritone, Verse 22: We met a snake who referred to himself as a "sssculptor of light…" He showed us a number of his works in progress and we were impressed. Though unfinished, the pieces crafted with crystals and shining stones all seemed very promising. Before we left, the sculptor of light had a proposal for us. "Your translucency is perfect. Would you consssider becoming part of one of my piecesss?" We politely refused.

- This tasssk is endless... We dig and we dig...yet sssand falls from above, erasing the progress we've made. Will we ever complete this tunnel sssystem? I have my doubtsss. I would curse the sssnake who decided to build tunnels beneath the sssand to escape the heat of the sssun... Alasss, it was me.
- Saga of the Exploritone, Verse 23: The ground here is an unbroken blanket of dazzling sand… It forms hills and slopes as though it is undulating. We step lightly so as not to get buried again. The sand squeaks whenever our hard feet rub against it. It has a different consistency here. It is glossier and highly translucent. Under bright light, we believe that it would sparkle most beautifully.
- Ssscenic Viewpoint, Serpent Sands: Rare varieties of flowersss and can be found blooming among the dunesss of the Serpent Sandsss. Additionally, the rocksss here come in all shapes and sizesss. Look closely—they may remind you of sssomething.
- Ssscenic Viewpoint, Oasis Observation Deck: As everyone knowsss, you can't have a desert without an oasisss. Here the oasisss is found in the village center. Where does the water come from, you asssk? To find the answer, one must sssimply peer under the oasssis itself.
- Ssscenic Viewpoint, Window Viper: As you ssslither along this passage, be sure to appreciate the airborne elegance you're surrounded by. The opulence is ssseen in the details. It is a work of art as much as it is a corridor. And with a roof adorned in ssspikes, well, you can rest assured that the sssecurity here is flawlesss.
- Saga of the Exploritone, Verse 24: Crystals grow in clusters here... They seem to slither through these caverns like snakes. We have heard that the crystals will one day be used to make light fixtures or other works of art. Perhaps the snakes' creations will make their way to other lands one day?
