Feast Layer is the fifteenth layer in the Underground World of Donkey Kong Bananza, occupying sublayers 1400 and 1401. It is an amusement park which is themed around fast food and lions, having many stone formations in the shape of lion heads. A roller coaster called the Roarcoaster allows Donkey Kong and Pauline to navigate the park more easily via Mine Cart.

It is populated by yellow Fractones shaped like lion heads, who roll some of their Rs in reference to a lion's growling; lions themselves are absent from the Underground World. Muck, a hazardous green substance, makes its first appearance here and features prominently throughout the layer, especially in sublayer 1401, alongside Muckoids, the enemies which produce it. Squeeloids are also fairly common here.

The Feast Layer is most famous for its Banana Burger, a 200-meter tall burger which consists of two banana bread buns with patties, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and a bacon path sandwiched between.[1] However, it is initially absent due to the muck impacting production; Donkey Kong and Pauline must explore the layer's attractions to press the five Burger Switches in order to add the ingredients and build the burger. After this is done, Void Kong arrives, puts a Void Stake into the top of the burger and flies away.

Donkey Kong and Pauline break the Void Stake and dive down the hole it creates in the burger into sublayer 1401, a factory area featuring a different type of Muckoid which spits metal-melting acid instead of muck. The duo navigate further in and eventually arrive at the Loading Bay. Down at the bottom is Muckety-Muck, a giant Muckoid who serves as the layer's main boss. After its defeat, it leaves behind another Void Stake, which the duo break and dive down into the Forbidden Layer in pursuit of Void Kong.

Sub-locations[edit]

Sublayer 1400[edit]

Sublayer 1400 is the main amusement park area. It is divided into the following sub-locations:

  • Mane Gate Market, a marketplace which contains a Chip Exchange, Stuff Shop, Style Shop, and the layer's Warp Gong.
  • Fried Pride Plaza, the entry plaza of the park which has the first Burger Switch at the end of a salt-producing conveyor belt. It also has a large oil fryer filled with boiling oil which damages Donkey Kong like lava if he falls in.
  • Feral Wheel, a Ferris wheel mounted on a gigantic stone lion.
  • To-Go Box Station, a metallic structure with stone and muck walls centered around the use of the Elephant Bananza.
  • Grater-Go-Round, a tower encircled by a crumbly path made of grated cheese centered around the use of the Zebra Bananza. A Burger Switch is located in the center.
  • Kingly Swings, a green metallic obstacle course with updraft fans centered around the use of the Ostrich Bananza. A Burger Switch is located at the top near a lion head archway made of cheese.
  • Umbrella-Straw Station, a Slippery Iron structure with a rotating wheel of muck, centered around the use of the Snake Bananza.
  • Royal Oil Cruise, a river of boiling oil which must be navigated by riding square salt platforms. A Burger Switch is located at the end, at the top of a ladder.
  • Ferocious Fryhouse, a purple fries-filled area with haunted graveyard themeing and a large circular oil tank with Mine Cart tracks suspended above it. Mad Mixer Remix must be defeated here to gain access to a Burger Switch.

Sublayer 1401[edit]

Sublayer 1401 is a factory kitchen, below the amusement park, where the food itself is made. It is divided into the following sub-locations:

  • Cat-Scratch Kitchen, a kitchen which has lots of Melted Cheese.
  • Waste-Oil Container, a gigantic cuboid room filled with boiling oil.
  • Loading Bay, a tall, cylindrical muck-filled room where Muckety-Muck is fought.
