Content DK Island map and Emerald Rush game mode

Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush is a paid DLC expansion for Donkey Kong Bananza. It was announced during a Nintendo Direct on September 12, 2025, and released the same day.[1] It adds an additional explorable layer to the game, DK Island, and a game mode called Emerald Rush wherein Donkey Kong must collect emerald ore for Void Kong against a time limit.

Story[edit]

After the events of Donkey Kong Bananza's main story, Donkey Kong and Pauline (after approaching a Warp Gong) are told by the Eelevator that "that wicked brute who brainwashed [her] husband" has reappeared and is making trouble on DK Island. Once they get there, they find Void Kong, who has landed his Pay-Dirt Piledriver on the shores of the island and set up a makeshift mining operation (accompanied by two Fractones).

Void is initially angered when he notices DK and Pauline's presence, but out of evident desperation, quickly changes his tune to offer them a job mining emerald for him, so that he can reclaim Void Company's spot as the most powerful mining operation on the planet. While at first reluctant, Pauline tells DK that it would be fun, and they agree to sign on as VoidCo employees.

After collecting 2000 Rating Points, Void announces that he wants to restart the Pay-Dirt Piledriver and Pauline seems to regret their decision to join up with Void. Poppy Kong and Grumpy Kong then show up and tell Donkey Kong that it won't be moving anytime soon due to their sabotage. Afterward, the credits can be played as a high score minigame around a sunset DK Island. At 10000 Rating Points, Void can be battled on DK Island.
