Lagoon Layer is the second layer in the Underground World of Donkey Kong Bananza, occupying sublayers 100 to 102. This layer is home to the Kong Elder, who resides at Sublayer 101.
When Donkey Kong and Odd Rock first reach Lagoon Layer, they come across a blocked reservoir, which they fix by destroying a Void Stake protected by a nearby Crockoid. In Sublayer 101, they must destroy concrete pillars blocking several water openings to fill the sublayer with water. After removing enough pillars, the bridge leading to Elder Court becomes accessible. After finding an Ancient Record for Kong Elder, Donkey Kong and Odd Rock enter a concert, which reveals the latter to be a 13-year-old Pauline, who uses her singing to transform Donkey Kong into his Kong Bananza, which he uses to destroy a wall leading to the Void Stake blocking the way to Sublayer 102. There, they encounter Void Company, consisting of Void Kong, Poppy Kong, and Grumpy Kong, who plan to go to the Planet Core. Grumpy Kong sends out Peekabruiser to slow down Donkey Kong and Pauline from making progress.
