Landfill Layer is the eleventh layer in the Underground World of Donkey Kong Bananza, occupying sublayers 1000 and 1001. It is a gigantic pit filled with dirt and, as its name indicates, trash and scrap. At the top of the pit where Donkey Kong and Pauline land, it is mostly barren except for a large bedrock wall, shaped like bananas, encircling the entrance to the pit. This wall can be scaled, and a lone Banandium Gem sits on one of the piths. A huge smokestack, having fallen down from the Canyon Layer, is buried in the dirt and acts as a tunnel of sorts when opened via launching from a Barrel Cannon at Trashtopia.[1] Peekaboopoids are extremely abundant in the layer, disguising themselves within the dirt.
This layer is strongly implied to be the home of the Eel Family; various sculptures shaped like Li'l Eelevators and the Great Harmoneel are found in the pit, and according to one of the Li'l Eelevators, it was created by his roaring and their mother worries about him not returning home.[2] While descending the pit, the Eelings that are seen will dig tunnels to guide the duo to the various levels of the pit, implying their familiarity with the location. Finally, a sign in the Upper Pit talks about Li'l Eelevators and how they will Teeleport people to the tuning forks in "their layer".
At the bottom of the pit and nearby Trashtopia, a Void Stake blocks the way to sublayer 1001. Once it is broken, Donkey Kong digs through dirt and stone while Peekaboopoids reveal themselves and attempt to swarm him. When the duo reach the bottom, they encounter Grumpy Kong who summons a large hoarde of the cephalopods to form a stronger version of Peekabruiser, known as Re-Peekabruiser, in order to slow down the duo. Once it is defeated, Grumpy Kong sits near the hole and compliments them while also swearing to defeat them next time.[3] They break the large Void Stake the boss leaves behind and dive down to the Racing Layer.

- ^ Li'l Eelevator, when asked "What's this junk?": "Oh, I know!
Mom told us all about it. She said it's things 'n' stuff that fell down from the upper layers."
- ^ Li'l Eelevator: "I guess so. But, well, Mom... She's been kinda worried about Dad not coming home. He's always busy doing biiig things. Y'know this deep pit you're playing in? Our dad carved it out with a single roar! He's really strong."
- ^ Grumpy Kong: "I fine-tuned, souped up, streamlined...but I was still no match for you. You two ain't half bad, you know that? Our next scrape's gonna be the one though. I can feel it..."
