The Junction is the eighth layer visited in the Underground World of Donkey Kong Bananza, occupying sublayer 700. As its name indicates, it merges two paths into one, being directly accessible from both the Freezer Layer and the Forest Layer. It is similar to The Divide in many ways: it is a layer with three-star terrain strength which consists of Neptunite landmasses connected to a forested path and a snowy path, there are no fossils in the layer, and there are only two challenge areas; one Challenge Course and one Battle Challenge.
One notable difference between The Divide and The Junction is the lack of a Stuff Shop in the latter, meaning no purchases of any kind can be made in this layer. Another difference is that The Divide connects to one layer above and two different layers below, while the reverse is true for The Junction. Finally, the sky of The Divide is reminiscent of nighttime, while that of The Junction resembles a sunset.
Cranky Kong and Rambi can be found on an adjacent pair of Cloudy Platforms floating above Clash Point, the small Neptunite landmass where the two paths converge. The layer's Warp Gong is also located here; this allows Donkey Kong and Pauline to return to The Divide and explore the path that was not initially chosen. Clash Point is additionally the location of the layer's only Getaway, the Clash Point Getaway.
During the first visit to this layer, both the Freezer and Forest paths are seen having been converted to Void Metal by Terravoiders, each of which is located along the respective paths. In addition to freeing trapped Fractones, destroying one of the Terravoiders causes a stone bridge leading to Clash Point to appear, as well as creating half of the stone bridge to the Pay-Dirt Piledriver, which is parked in this layer due to running out of fuel. Once both Terravoiders are destroyed, the Pay-Dirt Piledriver can be reached. Void Kong is found here, but he flees to the Hilltop Layer and Lagoon Layer to steal more Banandium Gems to fuel the aforementioned machine. In addition, Grumpy Kong can be found performing maintenance on the machine and will tell Donkey Kong to leave him alone, while Poppy Kong is found in front of the parking spot, and will suggest that Donkey Kong and Pauline follow Void Kong if they want to catch him.
After the duo chase Void Kong to both of the aforementioned layers and fight him off, he returns to The Junction, where the duo fight him once more. After his defeat, he heads further underground with the now refuelled Pay-Dirt Piledriver, as the duo failed to prevent him from stealing Banandium Gems. A Barrel Cannon then appears in front of its former parking spot; this launches Donkey Kong and Pauline into a large gap in the clouds, sending them to the Resort Layer.
