Effect Brightens dark areas and weakens Shade Ore

Glow Stone is a type of terrain that appears in Donkey Kong Bananza. It is a light-refracting rock that is primarily found in Glowboa Grotto, an area of SL1200 in the Radiance Layer. Snakes chisel off pieces Glow Stone to create light fixtures that can be found throughout the sub-layer. Glow Stone also appears as a decorative element in the Feast Layer, as several light fixtures and signs are made from the material.

Once Donkey Kong tears off a chunk of Glow Stone, it will begin shrinking in size, eventually disappearing completely. Bringing a chunk near an empty light post with a will create a lamp that does not dissipate, and can regenerate after being torn off. When carried, Glow Stone chunks will brighten dark areas. Bringing it near Shade Ore will reduce it to a weakened state, and Gloominoids will become immobile; notably, neither are effected when standing directly on naturally occurring Glow Stone, only by chunks or lamps created by the material. Throwing a chunk at a Gloominoid will instantly defeat it.
