Resort Layer is the ninth layer in the Underground World of Donkey Kong Bananza, occupying sublayer 800. As the name indicates, it serves as a reprieve from action; it is located between The Junction, where Void Kong is fought, and the Tempest Layer, a major progression area where the Elephant Bananza is learned.

It is a tropical resort, being largely composed of water, sand, and Liftoff Ore, which makes its first appearance here. It seemingly has a blue sky and a sun shaped like a Banandium Chip. Its most prominent feature is a huge, cube shaped watermelon, which is balanced atop a giant banana-shaped rock and blocks the sinkhole leading to the Tempest Layer. A large number of small floating islands and floating juice spheres are also present in the layer, and in addition to the watermelon, various other cubic fruits are scattered around the islands, these being oranges, pears, and strawberries.

Signs[edit]

  • Ever dreamed of soaring through the open air? Liftoff Ore can make those lofty dreams of flight come true! Grab hold of some, and you'll launch straight up, just like a rocket! Please note that any chunks torn off from us Fractones will function more like rock than rocket.
  • Fruitbowl Archipelago: Tourist's Guide: You can find rare items inside the oranges or pears that grow natively on these islands. Or so we have heard.
  • Saga of the Exploritone, Verse 14: There is water as far as we can see... It's warm here... The sunlight is strong... It feels nice to dip our feet in the water. We feel saltiness against our stone hide. The sand is damp and claylike, with vibrant fruits buried everywhere. After eating our fill, we slept in the shade of a tree. Before we knew it, our nap had lasted several years. Now that we are well-rested, it's time for us to head for our next sinkhole. Onward, to the origin of Us!
  • We only just noticed there are small ruins at the bottom of the ocean here... Even we do not know who made them nor for what purpose. But there is a sense of adventure in mysteries with no explanation. We'll just say that these ruins were made by our ancestors...and take no further questions.
  • Big Watermelon Observation Log: One day, a seed we planted grew like none other... It seemed for a while that it would never stop growing. It's so big now! But we do wonder how such a magnificent fruit must taste... Won't someone strong and hungry come and break open the watermelon for us? Just kidding. No one is that strong... or that hungry.
