Banandium Chips (or just chips) are collectable items in Donkey Kong Bananza. They are coin-like items resembling banana chips or banana slices. They can be used to purchase Banandium Gems at the Chip Exchange. In the post-game, Banandium Chips can also be used to purchase discs for 100 each.
Up to 85 Banandium Gems can be bought: one must be bought from all 14 Chip Exchanges to complete the collection, and 71 extras can be bought anywhere. The first Banandium Gem costs 10 Banandium Chips, and the price increases by 10 with each purchase until it reaches 100. The entire stock costs a total of 8,050 Banandium Chips. With the DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC, the player can buy statues from Squawks at his hut on DK Island for 100 Banandium Chips each.
The player can carry up to 99,999 Banandium Chips as of version 2.0.0 of the game, increased from 9,999 in the base version.
