Boom Rock is a type of mineral that appears in Donkey Kong Bananza. It is dark gray stone that features crevices which glow bright pink, and constantly emit pink sparks. It typically appears in the form of cubes or pillars, which can be torn apart by Donkey Kong. Boom Rock is considered sturdy terrain.
Chunks of Boom Rock are known as Boom Bombs, and will explode upon contact with any surface after being thrown or swung, causing significant damage to most types of enemies and terrain. However, the explosions they cause will not damage Donkey Kong when used by him directly. Boom Bombs will not detonate when used for a chunk jump or for Turf Surfing. In many areas, often where they are required to complete certain tasks, Boom Rock pillars will regenerate immediately after being destroyed by Donkey Kong.
