Muck is a type of hazardous terrain in Donkey Kong Bananza that appears prominently in the Feast Layer, especially in sublayer 1401. It is a green substance that emits bubble particles which shift from green to pink and vice versa, popping with tiny electric sparks. It is produced by Muckety-Muck, as well as Muckoids, though only the green-faced variety of the latter are capable of spitting it as an attack.
So long as Donkey Kong is in contact with muck, he will take continuous shock damage. The damage dealt by muck can be lessened by equipping either Purple Britches or Shock-Proof Britches; the former by 10%, the latter by 20%, 30%, or 40% depending on its current upgrade level.
Muck cannot be inhaled by the Elephant Bananza, nor is it affected by most terrain. The only way to clear muck is with chunks of salt; throwing the chunk is more effective than swinging it directly at the muck, as the former causes the salt to sprinkle down and dissolve any muck it falls onto. Any gold and fossils submerged in the muck will also be collected if enough of it is removed from around these objects.
