Relatives

Squeeloids are porcine enemies in Donkey Kong Bananza, first appearing on the Canyon Layer. They are explosive enemies resembling boars that sport two legs that can become wheels and a fuse on their back, similar to a tail.

When a Squeeloid spots Donkey Kong, it will walk toward him if it is far away, transform its legs into wheels, and charge at him. If a charging Squeeloid makes contact with Donkey Kong, it will damage him, unless Donkey Kong throws a punch; in that case, the Squeeloid is launched, if not made of hazardous terrain such as thorns. Any attack can defeat a Squeeloid if it is not made of harmful material, regardless of whether it is charging or not; when defeated, a Squeeloid is launched away from Donkey Kong, detonating where it lands. Other enemies such as Crockoids can also defeat Squeeloids, detonating them instantly instead of launching them. Squeeloids caught in another Squeeloid explosion also detonate. Squeeloids made of snow appear in the Freezer Layer, which will cool lava into stone when detonated in its vicinity. Salt Squeeloids appear in the Feast Layer, which can be launched towards muck to clear it.

In the Planet Core, Squeeloids are replaced by Kabooms, red Kremling enemies originating from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Kabooms function identically to Squeeloids.

Naming[edit]

The English name is a pun on "squeal", in reference to noises that pigs make, and "wheel". The name includes the "-oid" suffix that is shared by most enemies found in the Underground World, in reference to the Void Company which created them.
