Banandium Mush is a type of hazard in Donkey Kong Bananza. It is a rotten form of Banandium which appears in New Donk City as both a terrain type and a fluid. The fluid form of Banandium Mush will rise continuously until Donkey Kong and Pauline reach the arena where K. Rool, King of Rot is fought, and will instantly defeat them if they are submerged too deeply in it. The terrain form will cause Donkey Kong to bounce up when touched, similarly to lava or thorns and cannot be directly destroyed with a punch. It is produced by the aforementioned boss during his fight and also appears during the action sequence beforehand; in the latter, it appears in the form of very large snake-like enemies.
The terrain form can be dealt with in multiple ways. It can be Inhaled with Elephant Bananza, which stores it as Pure Banandium, which functions identically to gold. Thrown chunks of Pure Banandium and gold bullions can convert Banandium Mush into gold in a circular radius around the point of impact. Banandium Mush can also be destroyed by the shockwaves produced by the Kong Bananza's Charge Punch, by the iron balls or suction stream of the blunderbuss wielded by the King of Rot, or converted into gold by any gold skills unlocked by completing a Bananza Rehearsal.
The damage dealt by Banandium Mush can be decreased by wearing Golden Britches or Girded Britches; the former by 10%, the latter by 20%, 30%, or 40% depending on its current upgrade level.
