- “Ahh! Sweet, savory gold!”
- —Growtone, Donkey Kong Bananza
The Growtones are large, golden Fractones resembling baobabs that appear in Donkey Kong Bananza. They are found in multiple layers throughout the Underground World, appearing next to a circular podium. When approached, they ask Donkey Kong to feed them large quantities of gold, which causes them to grow taller and create branches that spawn Banandium Gems upon completion; not too dissimilar to the Hungry Lumas from Super Mario Galaxy. Up to three branches can be created before the Growtone is completely sated, after which no further gold can be fed to them.
In the DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC, a statue of Growtone can be collected and placed at the north side of the Northwest Beach on DK Island.
