Glitzoids are reptilian enemies in Donkey Kong Bananza, first appearing on the Hilltop Layer. They are lizards with large tails made of Banandium Chips, and are based on species of lizards that drop their tails, such as agamas and geckos. Every Glitzoid has a terrain type it is bound to; if a Glitzoid leaves its designated terrain, which it will not do on its own, then it will be unable to move.
Typically, Glitzoids are found in areas covered in mud. When a Glitzoid is approached by Donkey Kong, it will begin to run haphazardly on its terrain at high speeds. Unlike Donkey Kong, they are not slowed down by mud. If attacked by Donkey Kong or Pauline, Banandium Chips will be dropped from its tail which shrinks accordingly. After several attacks, a Glitzoid can be defeated, and all Banandium Chips remaining on its tail will be released.
In the DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC, a statue of a Glitzoid can be collected and placed on Banandiumtone's Floating Islet above DK Island. An Emerald Perk called "Glitzoid Demolisher" can appear during an Emerald Rush, which increases the amount of Emerald Chips that appear every time Donkey Kong punches a Glitzoid.
Locations[edit]
Glitzoids are rare enemies, with only one appearing in most layers. Lagoon Layer, The Divide, The Junction, Racing Layer, Groove Layer, Forbidden Layer, the Planet Core and the DLC layer DK Island are the only layers in the game to not have a Glitzoid.

Naming[edit]
"Glitzoid" comes from the word "glitz", and possibly "blitz" (in reference to their fast movement speed) or "lizard". Its name also includes the "-oid" suffix shared by most of the Underground World's enemies, in reference to their creator, the Void Company.
Glitzoids are never named in the base game, only being given a name in Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush.
