Snake Elder, Donkey Kong Bananza

Snake Elder's Rehearsal Hall is a Bananza Rehearsal in Donkey Kong Bananza. It is hosted by the Snake Elder in the post-game. The challenges in this Rehearsal involve extensive use of Charge Jumps and Glares to climb tall structures. The player has to collect 600 Banandium Gems before being allowed to attempt the Rehearsal.

Layout[edit]

Starting area[edit]

“You gotta climb high–higher ssstill!
Thisss rehearsal–it's far from chill.”
Snake Elder

The starting area consists of a walkway towards a large staircase. On top of the stairs is a platform of gold below several Shifty Platforms. The player must repeatedly grab the gold and perform Charge Jumps to create new platforms and reach higher areas, while dodging VoidCo Bongo Blasters. Eventually, the player will reach a Barrel Cannon that takes them to the next area.

First Scale[edit]

“Destruction! Creation! Art inspiration!
Ssspring up like a sssnake sensation!”
Snake Elder

In the First Scale, the player must use Switcheroo Goo platforms to advance while dodging water Munchoids. The first section contains columns of pink goo that the player must jump into to create horizontal platforms of blue goo. The second section contains horizontal platforms of goo. The third section contains a set of large platforms of goo.

First Scale Coda[edit]

Passing the final section leads to the First Scale Coda, which contains a Banandium Gem. To the left of the Coda is a Barrel Cannon that leads to an extra challenge. The player must jump up a winding stone platform to reach the top, where another Banandium Gem is located.

Second Scale[edit]

“Ssspikey walls go ssslipping by.
Break 'em down! Dare to try!”
Snake Elder

Taking the Barrel Cannon straight ahead from the First Scale Coda leads to the Second Scale, consisting of walls of upward-scrolling spiky concrete behind walls of Slippery Neptunite with large holes in them. The player must use the chunks of Boom Rock from Buzzoids to break the spiky concrete, and jump through the concrete and the Neptunite to advance. The first Slippery Neptunite wall has a tall hole. The second wall has a taller and slightly bent hole, with stone platforms to aid in jumping higher. The third wall has several bends and is even taller.

Second Scale Coda[edit]

Passing through the final wall leads to the Second Scale Coda, which contains a Banandium Gem. To the left of the Coda is a Barrel Cannon that leads to an extra challenge. The player must use Liftoff Ore to ascend a pillar of quickly-spinning lasers to reach the top, where another Banandium Gem is located.

Third Scale[edit]

“Wanna move up? Punch and punch!
When the time's right, jump and jump!”
Snake Elder

Taking the Barrel Cannon straight ahead from the Second Scale Coda leads to the Third Scale, consisting of Bopper Switches that move slabs of Neptunite. The player must line up the Neptunite to jump through safe areas. The first section involves several switches in a maze of electrified iron. The second section involves a straight path that gets more narrow as the player ascends through lava.

Third Scale Coda[edit]

Passing the final section leads to the Third Scale Coda, which contains a Banandium Gem. To the left of the Coda is a Barrel Cannon that leads to an extra challenge. The player must ascend a stone structure littered with Boom Rock bombs while Glaring to reach the top, where another Banandium Gem is located.

Fourth Scale[edit]

“Artlesss moves get ya knocked down.
Use your ssskils to ssstick around!”
Snake Elder

Taking the Barrel Cannon straight ahead from the Third Scale Coda leads to the Fourth Scale, where the player must climb up a wall of Neptunite while charge jumping through falling platforms. On the first wall, the falling platforms are made of sand. On the second wall, the platforms are half sand and half electrified iron, with each platform alternating between material.

Fourth Scale Coda[edit]

Climbing up the second wall leads to the Fourth Scale Coda, which contains a Banandium Gem. To the left of the Coda is a Barrel Cannon that leads to an extra challenge. The player must destroy a concrete platform with a Meteor Punch to drop three indestructible Crockoids into a pool of water below them. Doing this awards a Banandium Gem.

Final Scale[edit]

“The end isss nigh. The beat will drop!
Don't get thrown. Jussst climb up top!”
Snake Elder

Taking the Barrel Cannon straight ahead from the Fourth Scale Coda leads to the Final Scale, where the player must climb up walls of Neptunite and indestructible Wallopoids using Glare. The final wall consists of an extremely tall Wallopoid.

Snake Elder's Throne[edit]

“My riffsss and hooksss! You sssprang past all expectationsss. Take a bow!”
Snake Elder

After climbing the final Wallopoid, the player ends up on a platform with a Barrel Cannon, which launches the player toward the Snake Elder's Throne, which houses the final bunch of three Banandium Gems and several Snakes that congratulate the player.

Balloons[edit]

  • In the second section of the First Scale, in a hidden alcove to the left of the final strip of blue Switcheroo Goo.
  • At the final wall of the Second Scale, behind a small hole to the right of the main path.
  • In the Third Scale, the player must adjust the Neptunite with the fourth Bopper Switch all the way to the right, where the balloon is above.
  • On the second wall of the Fourth Scale, behind the second-to-last section of the climbable Neptunite. The balloon can be accessed by climbing to the right.
  • In the second section of the Final Scale, below the final wide Wallopoid is a tall Wallopoid. The player must make the tall Wallopoid fall over, creating a platform to reach the balloon.
