Relatives

Hefty Goombas[1][2] are enemies introduced in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. These Goombas are smaller than a Big Goomba but bigger than a common Goomba. They are commonly depicted as being the same height as Super Mario.

The Big Goombas in Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Maker 2 are the same size as Hefty Goombas and similarly split into two smaller Goombas when stomped, but they are not referred to as Hefty Goombas.

History[edit]

New Super Mario Bros. Wii[edit]

The World 1 Enemy Course

Hefty Goombas are enemies in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. They are encountered in the World 1 Enemy Course and in World 8-2. Hefty Goombas split into two normal Goombas when stomped. They are the only large enemies that can be frozen by ice balls, but need to be Ground Pounded because their huge size prevents the player character from being able to lift them. Giant Goombas are shown to about twice as large as a Hefty Goomba, and they split into two Hefty Goombas when stomped.

New Super Mario Bros. U / New Super Luigi U / New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe[edit]

Hefty Goombas are enemies in New Super Mario Bros. U and its expansion New Super Luigi U. They are encountered in the Goomba Enemy Course in Layer-Cake Desert in both games, as well as in the level Jungle of the Giants in Soda Jungle in the former game, appearing when the player jumps on a Big Goomba. Hefty Goombas act the same as in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder[edit]

Hefty Goombas are enemies in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. They are first encountered in The Sharp Trial: Launch to Victory. Hefty Goombas act same as in previous appearances.
