Tome Kuribō is a Goomba that works in the Mushroom Kingdom as a news anchor, who appeared in the Dr. Mario manga. He is a well-dressed Goomba with a human-like face.
He appears in chapter 1, explaining how the Gahaha Biyō has spread in the whole Kingdom, apart from the Kinoko Yama region, before his cameraman collapses from laughing because of the disease. Tome also starts the broadcast laughing, but he manages to hold the laughs, during his explanation.
At the end of the chapter, Tome explains how Dr. Mario has found and shared the cure and cleansed the Kingdom from the Gahaha Virus, finishing off explaining how Daisy (who came to visit the Kingdom for the Ikebana Expo), returned to Sarasaland after another fight with Princess Peach.
He reappears in Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 6 as one of the candidates for the People's Honor Award in chapter 3, friendly headbutting with the village chief on who between them will get the award. They are then seen congratulating Mario and witnessing how the fire force are taming the flames spread in the Kinoko Biru.
