Kinoko Yama is a mountain region located at the far North-West of the Mushroom Kingdom that appeared in the Dr. Mario manga.
After Gahaha Daiō has infected the Mushroom Kingdom with the Gahaha Biyō, Mario tries to come up with a cure, and sees on the news that the Kinoko Yama are strangely uninfected. Followed by Peach and Daisy, Mario flies with the Sky Pop to the mountain. Gahaha Daiō also goes there to conquer the last bit of the kingdom. Mario interrogates the local villagers, but they are not even aware of the pandemic, nor why they are immune to it. Gahaha Daiō, with a disguise, try to infect Mario with a poisoned apple, but the princesses eat it, worsening their current condition. Gahaha Daiō then sics his Dokudoku Pakkun Flower onto everyone, and Mario, the princesses, and the Toads hide behind the Miracle Kinoko, a giant mushroom that is considered the deity of the region. Luckily for Mario, the Miracle Kinoko is the cure he was looking for, seeing as both the virus and the Dokudoku Pakkun Flower are repelled by it. After giving a bit of it to the princesses, curing them, Mario quickly makes pills out of the Miracle Kinoko and beats Gahaha Daiō and his creatures.
