Mumsies[1] (singular: Mumsy)[2] are mummy-like enemies with pillar-like foreheads of varying heights and loose wrappings on their backs that appear in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Their wrapping can be pulled back to unveil and defeat them. They appear in the levels The Desert Mystery, KO Arena Sunbaked Skirmish, Another Uncharted Area: Swaying Ruins, and Sunbaked Desert Special Pole Block Allure. Their identity is unknown, but they are believed to be related to Trompettes due to their long head, and their English name comes from "mummy",[2] as well as being a pun on "mumsy", an endearing term for a mother.
They can be bounced on, and cannot be defeated by Ground Pounds (unless the player is in Drill form). Other ways they can be defeated are by being hit by other enemies, or getting crushed by a moving platform.
