The Poplin Band is a group of characters that appear in Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park. The ensemble consists of twelve dark-green Poplins, including a conductor. Primarily located in Bellabel Park, they can be found at both Attraction Central and Camp Central. When the player approaches them, they perform a specialized arrangement of "World Theme: Camp Central" or "World Theme: Attraction Central" will play, depending on the location, in the style of a marching band. While playing their instruments, the members can also be heard humming along to the melody.
In Attraction Central, the Poplin Band's conductor is seen performing percussion alongside other members. Additionally, groups of four band members appear randomly in either the Local Multiplayer Plaza or the Game Room Plaza, with their presence in these locations varying each time the player visits. At the Camp Central stage, two standard Poplins can be seen nearby cheering to the music, accompanied by the Brigade Purple Toad, who dances along to the performance.
Upon the player obtaining their first Instrument Flower, the Poplin Band's conductor appears and requests the player's assistance in gathering all twelve instruments to complete their ensemble.
These instruments can be obtained through two methods:
- Watering Sprouts: The player can find various sprouts throughout Bellabel Park. When watered, these sprouts bloom to produce a random reward; while they may yield a Decorative flower or a greeting, there is a chance for one of the band's instruments to appear.
- Flower Shop: Alternatively, the player can purchase them from the Flower Shop, which sells instruments for 50 Bellabel Water droplets each. The shop's inventory updates daily, with a randomized instrument becoming available for purchase each day.
Once the player has collected all twelve instruments, they can speak with the Poplin Band's conductor. This triggers a playable musical performance, during which Meetup in Bellabel Park staff credits is displayed.
