The hopping nose bug is a non-sapient creature that makes minor appearances in the WarioWare games. It is a creature that resembles Wario's nose and hops around using its moustache like a cricket's legs.
History[edit]
WarioWare series[edit]
WarioWare: Touched![edit]
Hopping nose bugs make their debut on the title screen of WarioWare: Touched! They hop around the screen and, while they cannot be interacted with directly, they will try to avoid other objects when they are flung across the screen, and fly off of the screen if hit by them. Sometimes, they will grow into large, bald noses that can catch said objects in their nostrils. After an object is caught in the giant nose's nostrils, it will be violently sneezed out, sending it flying.
WarioWare: Get It Together![edit]
A hopping nose bug appears in Wario's level of WarioWare: Get It Together!, "Intro Games", with the opening of the stage showing one landing from space and crashing through Wario's House, creating a crater in the ground. Each microgame in the level takes place inside a bug's nostril. The bugs come in pink and orange varieties, except for the boss game's bug, which is purple with a crown.
Super Smash Bros. series[edit]
On the PictoChat 2 stage that appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, hopping nose bugs appear as a transformation, where they can be used as bouncing platforms.
Mario Kart World[edit]
In Mario Kart World, various signs for the Wario Games brand feature the hopping nose bugs. They also appear on two stickers for the vehicles.
