Design challenges[edit]

Periodically, Nintendo held design challenges, also known as contests, where WarioWare: D.I.Y. owners could send in their game creations that complied with certain conditions depending on the challenge. Players who wanted to take part in the challenge needed to access Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. A person could enter a contest one time each. Games of the challenge winners were made available under the category Theme Games for download over the Wi-Fi Connection by Nintendo for a limited time.

The first design challenge was started by Nintendo with the Japanese release of WarioWare: D.I.Y. The challenges differed between regions.
