In certain bonus challenges of Mario Kart Tour, the player must race against an enlarged (Mega) driver. These challenges are titled "Vs. Mega" (occasionally parsed "vs. Mega") followed by the opponent's name. Mega drivers have the ability to crash the player's driver upon contact and pass through certain obstacles unfazed (as drivers can do in regular races under the effects of a Mega Mushroom), while also being able to produce items without relying on Item Boxes. Additionally, they can throw Bowser's Shells and Giga Bob-ombs backwards. In some Vs. Mega challenges, the player must also race against a number of regular-sized drivers beside the Mega opponent. To clear a Vs. Mega challenge, the player has to finish the race in first place.
As with regular races, Vs. Mega challenges have the player pick a driver, kart and glider from their own roster instead of giving them set items to use like most other bonus challenges. The player can also select the speed class, which determines the difficulty of the challenge; for instance, higher speed classes may present additional opponents or add stronger items in the Mega opponent's item pool. The speed class also affects the number of Grand Stars the player earns from the challenge upon clearing it; one Grand Star is awarded for clearing the challenge on 50cc, two for 100cc and three for 150cc or 200cc.
Vs. Mega challenges usually appear in the last cup of the tour, with the exception of nine tours: the Tokyo, Peach, Summer Festival, Sunset, Mario vs. Luigi (where none appeared at all), New Year's 2021, Berlin, Cat, and Peach vs. Daisy (where none appeared at all) Tours.
The following is a list of Vs. Mega bonus challenges sorted by course.
