Sew Tricky is a minigame in WarioWare Gold. It is an endless version of the microgame Right in the Eye.

Gameplay[edit]

Sew Tricky from WarioWare Gold

The objective is to maneuver a hand holding a thread so that the thread goes through the eyes of the needles without touching the needle outside of the eyes. Needles appear one at a time, and a point is earned for every needle threaded. Needles vary in size, movement patterns, and eye sizes. As the score increases, more types of needles appear and more kinds of movement patterns are present.

Needles[edit]

Types of needles include:

  • A normal silver needle. It is always the first needle of the game.
  • A silver needle with a black spiral pattern. It has a smaller eye.
  • A yellow needle with black spots. It has a smaller eye than the black spiral needle.
  • A black needle with a magenta outline. Its eye is extremely narrow, being a circle compared to the ovals of the eyes of the other needles. It appears as every twentieth needle. This needle is always stationary.
  • A silver needle that is much longer than normal, with a slightly smaller eye. It appears after 20 points.
  • A green needle with a purple spiral pattern, with a face using the eye of the needle as an open mouth. Its eye is smaller than the black spiral needle. It appears after 60 points.

Movement[edit]

Needles can move in the following methods:

  • Stationary. Black needles with magenta outlines can only move in this manner.
  • Up and down, slowing down to turn around at certain points. Can only appear after obtaining at least 10 points.
  • A variation on the above with a more extreme starting and stopping motion. Starts appearing in the 20-39 point range.
  • Drop to the bottom of the screen and bounce a few times, then rise up to the starting position to repeat. Starts appearing in the 20-39 point range.
  • Accelerate quickly, then bounce off one ending point. It decelerates and stops at the starting point, then starts again. Starts appearing in the 40-59 point range.
  • A variation on the basic up and down pattern that is more extreme only in the middle. Starts appearing in the 60-79 point range.
  • Oscillate wildly, stopping at the same place it started for a brief period between oscillations. Starts appearing in the 60-79 point range.

Backgrounds[edit]

The following backgrounds appear throughout the minigame:

  • 0-19 points: Plain background
  • 20-39 points: Savanna background
  • 40-59 points: Aquatic background
  • 60-79 points: Mountain background
  • 80+ points: Space background
