Mario Portal (also written in Japanese as マリオポータル) is the official Japanese website for the Super Mario franchise. Originally released exclusively in Japanese on March 3, 2017,[1] the website has since received an English version on July 12, 2022.[2] Mario Portal's front page features recent news regarding game releases and other events, such as series anniversaries, film releases and other topics. There are four other pages in the website: History, Characters, Games and Goods. Two additional links lead to the websites for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Super Nintendo World.

The History page contains a timeline with the release dates of various games within the franchise, separated by year. The timeline is organized according to the Japanese release of the games, can be sorted by oldest or newest, and can be filtered by series, year, console or genre. If the user is logged into their Nintendo Account and has their date of birth registered, their corresponding age will appear next to each year in the timeline.

Each game listed has an accompaning subpage which features a main piece of artwork for the game, its release date and console, a sample of one of its music tracks, a link to its official Japanese website, gameplay screenshots, and a description of its story, if one exists. Additionally, games in the Super Mario series have expanded pages, which additionally includes power ups and their respective forms, as well as a gallery of screenshots and artwork for the game's enemies, including their names.

The following is a table of titles included in the timeline. Games marked with * have expanded pages with power up and enemy lists.

The Characters page contains profiles for various recurring characters within the Super Mario franchise. Each profile consists of a piece of artwork, a description and three voice lines. There are currently 14 characters included in the page. The artwork used in the page consists of cropped variations of existing artwork, the following table uses the full versions of them.

いつも陽気で明るいマリオ。
ピーチ姫のことが大好きで、双子の弟、ルイージとは名コンビ。
スポーツが得意で、テニスや野球、サッカー、そしてカートレースまで、なんでもうまくこなします。
職業は配管工。でも、活躍の場はそれにとどまりません。
得意のジャンプやいろいろなパワーアップで、宿敵クッパに立ち向かいます。
The main hero of the Mushroom Kingdom.
Mario is always bright and cheerful and instantly recognizable with his blue overalls, red cap, and trademark moustache.
He's a trusted friend of Princess Peach, and he and his brother Luigi are known across the land for their acts of bravery.
Mario excels at sports including tennis, golf, baseball, soccer, and even kart racing. He's good at all of them!
He's a plumber by profession but is really a jack of all trades.
He uses his masterful jumping ability and a variety of power-ups to take on his archrival, Bowser.

ニガテなものは、やっぱりオバケ。
実はマリオと同じくらいなんでもこなす実力の持ち主です。
さらに、マリオとルイージ、兄弟がふたりそろえば百人力。
トレードマークは、緑の帽子に緑のシャツ。
マリオとくらべて、少しだけ背が高く、よく見るとひげの形もちょっと違います。
Mario's brother and fellow hero of the Mushroom Kingdom.
Luigi is instantly recognizable in his trademark green hat and green shirt.
Luigi is kind but can be a bit nervous, especially around ghosts.
However, his abilities are on par with Mario's, so when these brothers team up, there's nothing they can't achieve.
Luigi is taller and can jump higher than Mario.
If you look closely, you may also notice that the shape of his moustache is a bit different as well.
Princess Peach Artwork of Princess Peach (also used as a profile icon for the Nintendo Switch since version 20.0.0) キノコ王国のお姫さま。
とてもやさしく、みんながしあわせに暮らせることをいつも願っています。
ケーキづくりや料理が好きで、いろんなスポーツにもチャレンジします。
マリオとはとても仲が良くて、お互いを頼りにしています。
ピンクのドレスがとっても素敵。
The beloved princess of the Mushroom Kingdom.
She's extremely kind and is always working to create a world where everyone can live together happily.
Her signature pink dress is quite lovely.
Princess Peach is always game for a variety of sports, and also enjoys baking and cooking.
Princess Peach and Mario are good friends and help each other out whenever they can.
Toad Render for Toad from the official home of Super Mario ピーチ姫のもとで働く、キノコ王国の住人。
青や緑など、色違いの仲間もいて、みんなとっても陽気で、働き者。
クッパからキノコ王国を守ろうとがんばるけど、いつも失敗してしまうんだとか……。
ときにはマリオを助けてくれたり、一緒に冒険の旅をしたりすることもあります。
A resident of the Mushroom Kingdom who works in service of Princess Peach.
Toad has red spots on his head, though others of his kind come in a variety of colors.
Toad is very cheerful and loyal.
He does his best to help Mario and Luigi in their efforts to protect the Mushroom Kingdom from Bowser, even if he ends endangering himself in the process.

The King of the Koopas.
Bowser is Mario's archrival and is always causing trouble in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Bowser commands many underlings, including Koopas, Goombas, Bullet Bills, and Shy Guys.
Whenever he sets his sights on the Mushroom Kingdom, his plans are often foiled by Mario and friends.
Bowser is a mighty foe who possesses incredible strength and can even breathe fire.
Yoshi Artwork of Yoshi, used in Mario Portal 「ヨッシーアイランド」からやってきた、マリオの頼れる仲間。
やさしくて、のんびりした性格。
自慢の長い舌でフルーツや敵キャラクターをまるごと飲み込んで、タマゴにしてしまいます。
緑のヨッシーのほかにも、赤・水色・ピンクなど色違いのヨッシーもいます。
Mario's dependable companion who hails from Yoshi's Island.
He is green, but others of his kind may be other colors such as red, blue, pink, and yellow.
Yoshi is kind and carefree.
He uses his long tongue to gobble up fruit and enemies, which he can turn into eggs for throwing.

Her trademark style includes her yellow dress and flowery accessories.
Daisy is cheerful, energetic, and enjoys playing a variety of sports with Mario and friends.

Wario wears purple overalls, a yellow hat, and has an instantly recognizable zigzag moustache.
Wario and Mario have known each other since they were babies.
He's got a boisterous personality and doesn't sweat the small things. He loves garlic and making money.

Waluigi is the self-proclaimed rival of Luigi.
Waluigi is willing to put in a lot of effort to best Mario and Luigi, if only to annoy them.
His long arms and long legs help keep him competitive at sports.

見た目はクールな印象ですが、親がいないチコたちの母親代わりを務めるなどやさしい性格の持ち主。
マリオたちと冒険に出かけることもあります。
A mysterious lady who travels the galaxy accompanied by her family of star-like creatures called Lumas.
Rosalina may seem a bit distant, but she is actually quite kind-hearted. She is the adoptive mother of the Lumas. Though her home is among the stars, she'll sometimes joins Mario and friends on their adventures.

The son of Bowser, the King of the Koopas. He's often seen wearing a mask with an intimidating mouth drawn on it.
Bowser Jr. is small but has inherited great strength from his father.
He may throw a tantrum if things don't go his way. He's known to cause plenty of trouble and can be a bit selfish.

Mischievous ghosts who often appear in dark, abandoned places.
They may be spooky ghosts, but they're also incredibly shy. They will freeze in place and cover their eyes if someone looks right at them.

The king of the jungle whose trademark is his red necktie, which bears his initials.
Donkey Kong can hurl giant barrels with the greatest of ease, and is so powerful the ground shakes when he pounds on the ground.
He loves bananas and always keeps a large stash of them in his treehouse.

Donkey Kong's trusted friend and partner.
His trademarks are his red shirt with yellow stars and red cap.
Though not as strong as DK, Diddy Kong is agile and a great jumper.
He's fast as well, and a great ally for helping DK protect his banana stash.

The Games page contains links to the official websites for Super Mario games. Recently released games have a large horizontal banner at the top of the page, while every game released for the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2 is listed at the bottom of the page.

Goods[edit]

The Goods section advertises merchandise of the Super Mario franchise currently sold at the Nintendo stores in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Fukuoka. It also has a section which features merch from specific goods series, such as the Super Mario Power-Ups line, or the Super Mario History line.
