Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV is an enhanced version of Super Mario Party Jamboree released worldwide for the Nintendo Switch 2 on July 24, 2025. First announced during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct in April 2025, it is the first Mario Party installment released for the Nintendo Switch 2, and the first port of a Mario Party installment. The game features new game modes along with visual enhancements, improved frame rate, and support for CameraPlay and GameShare.
The game was covered during the Nintendo Treehouse: Live event on April 4, 2025.[22] As Nintendo Switch 2 Edition software, owners of the original Super Mario Party Jamboree can purchase the additional content as DLC via an upgrade pack. Conversely, the base game can be played on the original Nintendo Switch if the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cartridge is inserted.
Edit
After loading the game, there are three Pipes; one of them is green and the other two are golden. The initial menu is similar to that of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, where the first pipe leads to the original game, which remains the same, aside from the resolution, which is now boosted from 900p/720p to 1080p in both handheld and TV modes. The second pipe leads to Jamboree TV, and the third pipe leads to GameShare.
Jamboree TVEdit
Jamboree TV contains all of the new modes that have been added to this version of the game. It features four modes, two of which are altered versions of existing modes and two of which are entirely new modes that take advantage of new features of the Nintendo Switch 2.
When starting the mode, a Koopa Troopa wearing a blue, backwards cap will ask the player whether they are playing locally, with friends in their Friends list, or online. If the former two modes are being played, and the Nintendo Switch 2 has a camera connected, the Koopa Troopa will then initiate a camera test, allowing the player(s) to set their faces within a circular frame for CameraPlay. If a camera is not being used, then a generic icon will represent the player during the opening. Afterwards, the curtains open and the Jamboree TV show begins, showcasing the audience, including the players. The players will then select their characters before being able to select a mode to play. While selecting a mode, the player can also toggle the Talking Flowers on and off for applicable modes.
Rather than an explorable plaza like the main game, the main menu in Jamboree TV simply consists of selecting one of four stages on the main one that represent the game modes. All game modes in the Jamboree TV mode are presented in 1080p/1440p (WQHD) resolution in handheld/docked mode, respectively.
Mario PartyEdit
Mario Party functions mostly the same, though if the CameraPlay feature is enabled, the players' faces can be seen at all times on the UI next to their characters, as well as during certain events such as Chance Time. Mouse minigames may also appear as 2-vs.-2 minigames, though they may be toggled off alongside motion-controlled minigames. While Pro Rules does not reappear in this version of Mario Party, two new rules have been added, being Tag Team Rules and Frenzy Rules.
Tag Team RulesEdit
Tag Team Rules function similarly to the Team Match and Tag Battle modes in previous games, in which players are split into teams of two. Each team shares their coins, Stars, and items. Whichever team has more coins and Stars by the end is the winner. Jamboree Buddies do not appear in this ruleset, being replaced by a unique item that can only be obtained with these rules, known as the Together Dice. This item calls the user's teammate to their space and both they and their teammate roll one of the Dice Blocks. The two then move together the combined number of spaces from both Dice Blocks. In this state, items, Stars, and space effects are doubled, similarly to the effect of a Jamboree Buddy. When both players from the same team land on the same space, their team obtains five coins. Some spaces are also replaced with a new type of space exclusive to this mode known as the Rally Space. Other than accommodating for these spaces, other changes are also made to the space layouts on every board, such as the removal of VS Spaces and a larger amount of spaces with negative effects, such as Red Spaces and Unlucky Spaces.
New spaceEdit
Image | Name | Description | Rarity |
---|---|---|---|
Rally Space | When a player lands on this space, it summons the player's teammate to that space, and the team will receive five coins. | Rare |
New itemEdit
Image | Name | Description | Cost | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Together Dice | Call teammate, roll 2 dice, and move total amount. Items, Stars, and space effects are doubled. | 20 coins | Only appears during the second half of a game. |
Frenzy RulesEdit
With Frenzy Rules, the game has only five turns and starts with two Homestretch events. All players are also given fifty coins, a Double Dice, and one Star to start with. Other Homestretch events, such as duels starting if two players land on the same space, can also happen from the start. Additionally, only one Bonus Star is given out at the end of the game.
Free PlayEdit
Free Play functions the same as Minigame Bay's Free Play equivalent, though alongside minigames from the original version of the game, 17 of the 20 new minigames from the Nintendo Switch 2 edition can also be played (with the Bowser Live minigames that use the CameraPlay feature being the only new minigames that cannot be played). Mouse minigames can be played with either Battle rules, in which they act as 2-vs.-2 minigames like in Mario Party, or Co-Op rules, where all four players work together like in Carnival Coaster. Like in Mario Party, the players' faces can be seen through CameraPlay. Not every minigame from the original game can be played in this version of Free Play, namely the Koopathlon, Kaboom-Squad, and Rhythm minigames.
Bowser LiveEdit
- Main article: Bowser Live
Bowser Live is a new mode in which four players compete in teams of two in various minigames that heavily feature CameraPlay and the microphone. In this mode, the players must stand up and move their bodies for each minigame. The mode starts with Bowser calling the players on stage, whose full bodies appear in Warp Pipes throughout the mode through CameraPlay. The players then play three minigames, whichever team performs better gains a point. The final minigame is always a minigame in which both teams take turns cheering for Bowser using movements and their voices. Whichever team cheers harder wins the minigame. This minigame gives a larger amount of points than the first two. At the end, Bowser decides the winning team and the losing team is punished by Bowser breathing fire at them.[22] A version of the mode without the involvement of CameraPlay also exists, in which the minigames played only involve the microphone instead and the characters that the players chose are used to represent them.
Bowser Live is not available when playing online. Additionally, Bowser and Bowser Jr. cannot be selected as the player's characters due to being the main hosts of the mode, requiring any players currently playing as them to switch to another character, similar to the Bowser Challenges in the main game.
Carnival CoasterEdit
Carnival Coaster is a new mode in which two or four players ride in a roller coaster together and team up to defeat waves of enemies by using mouse controls to throw balls at them. Before the mode starts, the players must lower their safety bars by pulling back their Joy-Con 2 in mouse mode. Throughout the mode, there is a timer that counts down, and the players lose if it runs out. Players can gain bonus time by defeating enemies. After defeating a wave of enemies, the coaster will go into a Warp Pipe, after which a Mouse minigame will start. In these minigames, the players must co-operate to score as many points as possible, aiming for the highest rank. Like in River Survival, getting a high rank will give the team bonus time, with the amount of extra seconds increasing the higher the rank:
- Rank S: +25 seconds (+10 seconds on Trial Coaster)
- Rank A: +20 seconds (+7 seconds on Trial Coaster)
- Rank B: +15 seconds (+3 seconds on Trial Coaster)
- Rank C: minigame failure, no bonus time
At certain points, the roller coaster will drop from an extreme height. When this happens, players can raise their arms up in the air to gain extra time. This mode also supports CameraPlay, which when enabled will add a screen to the bottom left that shows the players on camera sitting in the coaster. There are five coasters in total to ride on, each with different settings and enemies to defeat:
- Carnival Coaster: Grassland-based coaster that features Koopa Paratroopas and Para-Biddybuds. Three rounds of minigames are encountered on this coaster.
- Sky-High Coaster: A coaster that takes place in the clouds that features Koopa Paratroopas and Bullet Bills. An indestructible Bomber Bill is seen midway through the coaster until the end. Two rounds of minigames are encountered on this coaster.
- Volcano Coaster: A coaster that goes inside a mountain that features Piranha Plants, Swoops, and Snifits riding minecarts that throws Bob-ombs at the player characters. Three rounds of minigames are encountered on this coaster.
- Haunted Coaster: Coaster that takes place in King Boo's haunted mansion and features Boos and Thwomps. King Boo is fought at the end, and there are hallways that can warp the player backwards if the incorrect one is chosen. Two rounds of minigames are encountered on this coaster.
- Trial Coaster: Coaster where Impostor Bowser chases the players. The time starts at 8 seconds and time gained from minigames is heavily reduced, with intermissions costing about 5 seconds. Seven rounds of minigames must be endured to reach the goal.
Carnival Coaster is not available when playing online.

Edit
If at least one player has this version of the game, they can host a game with other Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 users locally who do not own the game through GameShare. Playing through GameShare only allows the players to play a game with Party Rules on the Mega Wiggler's Tree Party board. Additionally, only 30 minigames are available.
References to other gamesEdit
- The icon for Frenzy Rules resembles a Wacky Watch.
- Talking Flowers return as part of the Jamboree TV menu, as well as the Bowser Live and Carnival Coaster modes.[21]
StaffEdit
While several staff members returned from Super Mario Party Jamboree, Osamu Tsuchihashi served as the game's director, instead of Takeru Sugimoto. Additionally, Patrick Seitz and Stanislav Shapkin debut as Talking Flowers in English and Russian, respectively, replacing their previous actors from Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
