Janken Fukubiki: Super Mario World is an arcade machine released by Banpresto in 1994. It is based on Super Mario World.

Gameplay[edit]

The gameplay is similar to that of rock paper scissors, where a hand wearing a glove flashes the three shapes a hand can be formed into when the game is played. The player then has to press one of three buttons meant to represent the rock, paper, or scissors. If the player wins once, they receive a card. If the player wins twice in a row, they can spin the wheel to receive a capsule. If the player wins thrice, they receive a card and a capsule.[2]

Pre-release and unused content[edit]

The 1993 build as seen in a magazine

In an unknown magazine, a 1993 prototype of the game was shown. The game had various visual differences. A statue of Mario riding Yoshi was seen on top of the machine, but the statue was changed to the one seen on Mario Undōkai. The lights used to display the hand were originally going to be three buttons marked by their symbol, and the buttons below the wheel were nowhere to be seen. Because of this change, it is unknown how this version of the game would have played.
