Chapter 1[edit]

Chapter 1

ドンキーみずにいれたら40ばい!?のまき (40 times bigger when watered?)

Reprising from where things left off in the previous volume, Kakkoii Mario, Luigi, and Toad just rescued Pauline (still unconcious) from Donkey Kong and Junior, but their minions Sairesu and Kānyī caught Peach and made her the Kongs' new hostage. Despite that, the heroes leave with Pauline, unfazed by Peach's predicament. Not even their captor are happy about it, as neither Kong wants her to become Junior's new mother, much to her frustration. Back at the beach, Toad takes the brothers and Pauline to the ship, but finds the cabin door locked. Just then Peach and the Kongs arrive. She reveals to still have the key, therefore they need to rescue her too, but Junior steals the key from her hand and claims possession of the ship to himself, declaring the protagonists his servants. Kakkoii Mario, distraughted by such fate manages to walk away in shame unnoticed, while the real (weak) Mario arrives and discovers the scene from the bushes.

Junior declares that he will use the boat (and the chained up slaves) to give his father a honeymoon around the world. Donkey Kong reminds him that the god of Donkey Kong Island did not approved his marriage, but Junior replies that he can get married the human way, through a marriage certificate, and he does so. Hidden in a barrel, Mario is taken on the ship. Toad is put on the rudder, Luigi to the galley kitchen, and Peach (after failing to use her feminine charms to avoid a manual task) is ordered to clean the toilets. After sailing, Pauline wakes up and is brought up to speed with the events she missed, then is offered a great feast to reprise Donkey Kong's plan to "make her as big as him" through feeding.

Mario, hidden in the barrel used as a chair by Donkey Kong, is ready to wait for nightime to fall and act, but gets busted when Donkey Kong ends up crashing the barrel under his weight. As he gets ready to punish the runnaway, the ship comes to a sudden stop. Toad suggests that something is blocking the propeller, so Donkey Kong stuffs Mario into a diving suit and sends him to investigate. It turns out that a giant Gessori is blocking the propellers. The Gessori then emerges and attacks the ship, grabbing Mario and then Pauline. As the situation is getting dire, Kakkoii Mario, riding a Dolphin, appears and uses his guitar and samurai skills to cut off one of the Gessori's tentacles, freeing Pauline and Mario from its coils, then he leaves. Luigi celebrates, Mario emerges out of the water and retorts that the danger is not over: the Gessori is still a threat and it is very angry now. As it promises to kill everyone on board, Donkey Kong steps forward to fight it, but gets bested by the remaining tentacles.

Just then, on a little raft, a strange Dr. Mario-looking scientist appears and throws a 40-bai Capsule in Donkey Kong's mouth, turning him into a massive ape, so big that he destroys the the tentacles coiling him, forcing the Gessori to a retreat. The self-called "Genius Professor" is a giant squid researcher whose latest endeavor has spiraled out of control. While glad that the Gessori is taken care of, Mario and the other now find themselves concerned about the giant Donkey Kong.

Chapter 2[edit]

Chapter 2

ドンキータワーの最終さいしゅうバトル!!のまき (Final battle in the Tower!)

While showing off his new size, Donkey Kong asks the Professor if he has another one of those pills to give to Pauline. He replies that he gave him the last one. Distraught by the fact that now being Pauline's companion is next to impossible, the marriage is off, and the enslaved crew laughs at this misfortune of his, to the point that Donkey Kong leaves crying, leaving Junior alone on the ship. Despite his attempts, the crew revolts against him and breaks free from their chains, forcing Junior to do all the job they were forced to do, until Pauline asks them to give Junior a break, feeling sorry for him. As the ship makes its return to Big-City, a tornado appears and sends the ship back to Donkey Kong Island.

Sairesu and the other minions, who were occupied building a giant tower as Donkey Kong and Pauline's palace, come to Junior's rescue, attacking the crew. Luigi pleads Mario to turn into Kakkoii Mario and save them, but Mario does not understand what he means: Luigi always thought Kakkoii Mario was Mario, while Peach was convinced the Professor was, but the real Kakkoii Mario appears, revealing himself to be Monchee in disguise. Being the god of the island, the minions stop attacking the heroes on his comand. Just then, from the sea, the giant Donkey Kong appears, so blinded by rage that he even kicks away his own son. The Professor explains that this is a side effect of his capsule: just like the Gessori, Donkey Kong too is going beserk. At first, Mario decides to leave him being, seeing as he is just redirecting his rage towards the Tower, but Luigi points out that Pauline was taken to the top.

While Peach tries to distract Donkey Kong, Mario and Luigi climb to the top, but get spotted by the giant ape, who begins to climb the tower, damaging it under his weight. On the top, Pauline suggests throwing at his some barrels placed there, and Mario follows through. By trying to kick one while balancing on it, Mario slips and both him and the barrel fall onto Donkey Kong's face, knocking him out but sending both of them to the ground, but Luigi and Pauline manage to catch Mario with a rope.

The capsule's effect wears off and Donkey Kong returns to his original big size. After thinking about it, Pauline decides to remain on the island and take care of the two Kongs, and is sure that Mario and Luigi will replace her and Junior in the circus. Tired of this whole story, Peach agrees: the ship gets repaired and Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad sail back to Big-City waving goodbye to Donkey Kong, Junior, Pauline, and Monchee, while the Professor makes a raft from a barrel and sails on his way.

Chapter 3[edit]

Chapter 3

ドンキーとうでのかなしい結末けつまつ!!のまき (A tragic epilogue on the island!)

Twelve years later from the last chapter's events, Mario and Luigi are doing good at the circus. Suddenly, Bowser, the landlord, arrives mid-show, claiming that the circus is behind on rent, declaring he will destroy the tent and eat the new animals if he does not get paid immediately. Unfortunately, due to Peach's spending habits, only half the rent gets paid. Bowser leaves, promising to return the next day. To make ends meet, Mario suggests inviting Pauline and Junior for a guest appearance to boost ticket sales. Peach agrees and, soon enough, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad arrive to Donkey Kong Island, now more populated, having been turned into a tropical resort.

Upon their arrival, the circus gang is welcomed by the grown-up Junior, now going by "DK", and his friend Diddy Kong, after their arrival was predicted by an aged-up Monchee. Just then, a sneaky figure in the bushes throws an arrow with a message attached at the group, then disappears. The letter informs DK that the elderly Donkey Kong Snr. was taken, and if they wish to see him again, they will meet to Miffy-chan's hill.

At the hill, a hooded figure, leading an army of Kremlings, is waiting for DK's arrival, claiming that his "fated rival" will come. Mario, Luigi, DK, and Diddy arrive, while Peach and Toad remain in the distance to cheer them up. Seeing them approaching, the Kremling leader sics his army against the heroes, while they get a surprise support from Donkey Kong's minions. Worried by this ambush, the mysterious leader takes advantage of Donkey Kong Snr.'s poor eyesight by pretending to be Junior, claiming that the "big bad ape" is bullying him. Furious, Donkey Kong Snr. attacks DK, knocking him out (and himself when DK falls on his head). With their leader down, the minions retreat, leaving Mario, Luigi, Diddy, and DK on the battlefield.

Just then, the circus Animal Friends appears. Greateful that their owner will not let them be Bowser's meal, they swam to Donkey Kong Island to help them. Riding an Animal Friend each, Mario destroys the Kritters with Rambi the rhino's horn, Luigi and Expresso the ostrich trample over the Gnawties, Diddy and Enguarde the swordfish stab all the Krushas, and DK and Winky chomps on the Klumps. With the leader left alone, Mario and DK punch him, sending him flying and removing his hood, revealing a giant flying squirrel.

Confused, Mario asks who he is. He explains that he was supposed to appear as a boss in Donkey Kong for Game Boy, but he was cut from the final product and excluded from Donkey Kong Country, so he plot this whole scheme to get back at everyone. Mario argues that it was inevitable, as it would have made the game more tedious and more difficult, something that is not needed, while Luigi argues that nobody lost anything from his exclusion, but, if he makes it feel better, Mario is also excluded from Donkey Kong Country. Hearing that, the Giant Squirrel flies away happy for "not being the only one to suffer".

With Donkey Kong Snr. rescued, a big fat woman appears, presenting herself as the island's developing manager. Much to Mario and the others' horror, she is Pauline.

With the plan for the comeback show ruined, the Circus filed for bankruptcy and its plot of land was used to build the "Koopa Building".

Bonus chapter[edit]

Bonus chapter 1

スーパーマリオコレクション (Super Mario All-Stars)

To celebrate the release of Super Mario All-Stars a red carpet ceremony is taking place, as Luigi presents the participants. Princess Peach, showing off her sexy cocktail dress, then Bowser and his Koopalings, then Birdo. When presenting Birdo, Wart gets ignored from both Luigi and the paparazzi, due to his low popularity, much to his anger. Just then, the men of the hour arrive, all four the past iterations of Mario: Mario 1 (Super Mario Bros.), Mario 2 (Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels), Mario 3 (Super Mario Bros. 3), and Mario USA (Super Mario Bros. 2). Peach announces that this ceremony will determine the best iteration of Mario: whomever gets second place will receive a silver statue of Mario. About to present the first prize, Bowser begins to shoot his gun around, ordering the first prize to be given to him, revealing that is a statue of Princess Peach in the cocktail dress, to which the Mario starts fighting for, despite Peach claiming that only a vote from the audience will determine that.

Just then, Wart takes it and jumps in one of the Warp Pipe on the stage. The four Marios chase after him, following him to the last level of Super Mario Bros., where Bowser awaits with his hammers on a bridge. After quickly taking care of him, the Marios free Peach and asks her if she saw Wart, describing him as a "ugly frog". Wart responds in offense to the insult, giving away his position, and flees into another pipe.

This time, they find themselves by the most difficult jump section in Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, in which it is needed to jump over three Koopa Paratroopas which Wart fails to accomplish due to his body weight, falling into the pit. At the bottom of the pit, Wart encounters The Lost Levels Bowser, offering him to join forces to beat the Marios. Bowser demands for Wart to identify himself, and he explains he is the final boss of Super Mario Bros. 2, to which Bowser laughs, claiming to be Mario's only enemy, but Wart explains he comes from the future, and can prove it, by summoning his future kids from Super Mario Bros. 3: the Koopalings. At first, Bowser is happy about it, until he notices none of the kids looks like Peach, meaning someone else must be the mother, but the only plausible candidate he can think of is Lena from the movie. The Marios jump into the pit and attack Bowser, scolding him for "betraying" his love to Peach, but Bowser retorts that even Mario flirts with two different girls in the movie. The Lost Levels Peach hears this and joins the fight in anger.

Wart takes the opportunity to flee to Super Mario Bros. 2 through a Warp Pipe, but the Marios are still on his tail and repeatedly kick the Warp Pipe before it can take effect on Wart. This causes a malfunction and all four Super Mario games worlds are merged into one. With three armies of minions at their disposal, Bowser and Wart sic them all against the Marios, but Mario 3 pulls out his Power-Ups and shares them with the others, but since he has the best one (the Super Leaf) he leaves the other Marios to deal with the "small fishes", while he charges at the bosses. Thanks to the power of flight, Mario 3 is able to end both of them with a powerful tail attack. Bowser flees and Wart surrends the statue, leaving him to be consoled by Birdo.

Mario 3 declares himself to be the ultimate Mario, but the other Marios disagree. Mario 3 declares that they can try to prove otherwise, but by themselves, they will not be able to defeat Tanooki Mario, but the Marios reveals that, by beating up the "small fishes" they accumulated a lot of extra Marios, and a fight ensues. The chapter concludes with a clash so monumental that it overflows onto the stage at the ceremony, where Peach is unable to declare a winner, while the silver statue is crying in a corner for being ignored.

Part 1[edit]
Bonus chapter 2 (part 1)

名作めいさく童話どうわシリーズ① - マッチりの 笑女しようじよ !?(Famous fairy tales 1: The Little Match Girl?)

It is the Christmas season. People are buying gifts, it snows, and somewhere, little Birdo is trying her best to sell boxes of matchsticks. She first tries with Mario, but he explains he can just use a Fire Flower to summon a fireball, as he then proceeds to illustrate. The people around, struck by this, start throwing coins at him and Mario begins to show off his power-up collections. Next, she tries with Bowser, but he burns her with his own Fire Breath: another no. Crying at the thought that her boss Wart will beat her up if she does not manage to sell the matchsticks before he goes into hibernation, two Galoombas make fun of her, so she tries to burn them with one of her matchsticks. They call a policeman, and Birdo goes to hide under a bridge.

After losing the cop, Birdo hands start to frostbite, so she lights a matchstick to stay warm. Suddenly a warm dining room with food on the table appears in front of her. Just then, Mario and Peach are returning home, ready to enjoy the feast they have prepared, only to find that Birdo broke through the window in and ate all the food.

Part 2[edit]
Bonus chapter 2 (part 2)

名作めいさく童話どうわシリーズ② - アルプスの少女しょうくじょデイジ (Famous fairy tales 2: Daisy, Girl of the Alps)

Deep in the mountains lives an old man (the Grandfather, played by Yosshīdamusu) with his niece Daisy (Heidi), who spends her time helping his goatherd friend Mario (Peter). One day, a rich town girl Birdo (Klara) arrives in the region to meet with her old friend Daisy. Having a broken leg, Birdo is pushed around in a wheelchair by her maid (Miss Rottenmeier, played by Peach). While resting to take a breath, Peach asks the old man how can they live in such place, but he cannot find a flaw in his lifestyle, not even when Mario shoves the wheelchair down a cliff with Birdo still sitting in it. The wheelchair crashes against a rock, and Peach punishes Mario (who did not want to share his friend Daisy with another person) by spanking him on the butt. Wanting to see his exposed rear, Birdo walks up the hill. This miracole calls for a celebration and the story ends.

The comic ends by revealing the two stories were created by Birdo and Daisy on Mario Paint and they were showing them to Mario, Peach, and Yosshīdamusu, who are not pleased with their depictions. Luigi arrives, ready to propose his Mario Paint rendition of Heidi, but Mario deletes his save file, much to his brother's confused shock.

Cameos and caricatures[edit]

Fictional works[edit]

  • Momotarō-zamurai: impressed by Kakkoii Mario's samurai skill when fighting the giant Gessori, Luigi states that he should re-read Kiichirō Yamate's novel.
  • Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas: Hakase's raft is named after Captain Nemo's submarine from Jule Verne's novel, the Nautilus.
  • Miffy: the hill where Mario and DK square off against the Kremling Kres is based and named after the Dutch children's book series character.
  • The Little Match Girl: the first story of the "GO! GO! Mario Paint Teather" is a parody of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, in which a young little girl is forced by her guardian to spend the cold Christman day and night selling matchsticks, resulting in her death as she hallucinates about her caring grandmother at the light of the matchsticks.
  • Heidi: the second story is a parody of Johanna Spyri's work, in which the titular protagonist is a cheerful young orphan girl who lives with her misantrophic grandfather in the Alps, and later is tricked into following her aunt in Frankfurt to be a lady's companion of a disabled rich girl named Klara. Thanks to her spirit, Heidi is able to bring some happiness to her grandfather's life and even manages to make Klara walk.
