NES Classics is a microsite published in 2004 by Cartoon Network to promote the launch of the Classic NES Series series of games for the Game Boy Advance. The microsite doubles as a platforming minigame. The website contains multiple elements pertaining to the Super Mario franchise.
Gameplay[edit]
The player takes the role of Jimmy, with the goal of the game being to find all four of the "pixel codes" (which spell out "KONG") hidden throughout the "Pixelland". Upon collecting all of them, the player can enter the resulting code to enter the prize draw for a chance at winning a Nintendo Entertainment System-themed Game Boy Advance SP and up to eight Classic NES Series games. Additionally, the player can collect a blue key and free Donkey Kong from a cage in order to download a Donkey Kong wallpaper.
