Ad-lib is an Adobe Flash game published by Nintendo of Japan on the official Donkey Konga 2 website in 2004. The game is a web-based version of the Freestyle Zone mode from the Nintendo GameCube game. The game's page also notes that this version of the mode does not support two-handed tapping.
Details[edit]
The game has no objective, as the player is simply meant to press the F, J, and Space keys on their keyboard to make their own beats, with said functionality standing in for the Bongos in Donkey Konga 2. Prior to starting the game, the player is able to choose a song and "tone"; however, most of the available songs and tones do not appear to have been coded to appear properly, as "Donkey-Kong-A-Go-Go!!" is the only title that appears correctly in the drop-down menu. After the player begins gameplay, they are shown a static image of Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and Dixie Kong over which they can create their beats, and what appear to be lyrics to the song chosen appear at the bottom of the screen.
