Barrel Race is 2-4 player minigame in Donkey Konga 2.
Overview[edit]
Donkey Kong must compete against Dixie Kong to see who can hit all the notes in a set the quickest. The notes fall from the top of the screen, and if the player hits the wrong note, the note does not disappear, and the player's control freezes briefly. The Short Set has 40 notes, the Medium Set has 100 notes, and the Long Set has 180 notes. Trepak plays in the background while playing the minigame.
In Vs. Barrel Race, Donkey Kong competes against Diddy Kong in two-player matches. In matches with three or more players, only Cranky Kong is visible on the screen.
After completing a set of notes, the player gets to play Match That Badge, with faster completion times granting more chances.
