Make four with Mario is a multiplayer game on the Nintendo Kids Club website.[1]
Gameplay[edit]
The game has the same concept and rules as Connect Four. The players must take turns dropping counters of their color into a 6×7 grid. The first player to form a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row of four counters of the same color wins the game.
Before dropping a counter into a column, the players can highlight the space where the counter will fall by putting the mouse pointer on its column (on desktop devices) or by moving the highlight using two arrows on the sides of the grid (on smart devices). After that, they must simply click/tap on the grid to drop a counter into it. When a counter is dropped into the grid, it falls down to the lowest available space in the column.
At the beginning of the game, the first player is prompted to choose whether to play against a friend or the computer. If the former is selected, each player will take Mario's or Luigi's side, which will determine the color of their counters (red or green). When playing against the computer, the human player has to pick a difficulty level (Easy or Difficult) and will automatically take Mario's side.
When a player wins, a window appears where they can choose to play a new game, start again with the same player, or exit to the title screen.
In-game instructions[edit]
In this game you can play against the computer, or against a friend in the same room.
- If you play against a friend, one of you will play as Mario, and the other as Luigi.
- If you play against the computer, you will play as Mario and the computer will play as Luigi.Take turns dropping your counters into the grid, and try to match four of your counters in a line.
On your turn, move your mouse pointer over the grid, and you'll see where your counter would end up before you drop it!
To win, you can match four of the counters in any direction.
