Paint Boy is an Adobe Shockwave game created to promote the Game Boy Color. It features art showcasing characters from the Super Mario franchise, along with those from The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon.

Gameplay[edit]

The game functions as a customizable digital Game Boy Color, allowing the player to both modify the color and draw on the system. There are 13 different screens to choose from, with the first being the Game Boy Color logo, the next four being related to the Super Mario franchise, the next of Link, the next six being related to Pokémon, and the final also being of Link. The game allows the player to change the brush size and the color the player is painting with, along with options to erase all modifications. The game also offers options to draw various shapes over areas that will leave behind splotches of whichever color the player is utilizing, and an option to type text on the system. Once the player has finished, there is also an icon of what appears to be a floppy disk with the Adobe Shockwave logo in the top left corner, presumably to save the player's finished Game Boy Color.
