Kakkoii Mario is a disguise that Monchee, Donkey Kong Island's deity, takes to help Mario in his mission in the Super Mario Kodansha manga. He looks identical to Mario, except for the distinctive large, sparkling anime eyes.
In chapter 3 of Super Mario: Donkey Kong 1, poisoned by a Poison Mushroom, Mario nearly falls in the pit of the temple of Kong, but Luigi catches him. The voice of the island's god tells him to let Mario fall, and Luigi obeys. Right after, the god, which is revealed to be the Monchee they befriended, emerges from the pit holding two Marios: the weakened Mario that was dropped and a vigorous strong "cool" Mario, asking (much like in The Honest Woodcutter story) which one he dropped. Luigi answer truthfully, and the God disappears leaving behind Kakkoii Mario, who then takes care of Donkey Kong and saves Pauline. Luigi believes that Monchee gave Mario strenght, but in actuallity, Kakkoii Mario is not the real Mario, who was teleported in another location, but it is later revealed to be Monchee acting like a more heroic Mario.
In chapter 1 of Super Mario: Donkey Kong 2, Kakkoii Mario and his friends are about to leave the island on Peach's ship, when Donkey Kong Jr. reveals to have taken the key to the ship, claiming that the crew members are now his slaves. Unable to take this humiliation, Kakkoii Mario runs away, while the real Mario approaches the scene and hides in a barrel. When he is later discovered and caught with easy, Luigi begins to think that his original theory was wrong, but when Mario is tossed into the sea to investigate what stopped the ship, discovering a giant Gessori, Kakkoii Mario reappears riding a Dolphin, cuts off a tentacle of the monster, and finally rides away, and only then Mario remerges, to which Luigi rethink that his theory might be right.
In chapter 2, when attacked by the Kongs' minions, Luigi asks Mario to turn into Kakkoii Mario and save them from that situation, but Mario is confused about it, while Peach shares her theory that Kakkoii Mario is Hakase (who also "conveniently" appeared right after Kakkoii Mario disappeared). Kakkoii Mario appears, and reveals himself to be Monchee, to which the minions stop attacking, obeying their god.
