Chapter 1[edit]
ワリオ、
Many years ago, a young nameless boy was traveling around the world. One day he arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom, and witnessed the young Princess Peach meeting up with her friends Mario and Luigi. Strucked by her beauty and wanting to become her friend, the boy decided to make it easy for her to remember him by tweaking Mario's trait: he drew an upside-down M on his cap and so he did with Mario's name, and so Wario was born.
While proposing on what to play, the brothers, misinterpeting one of Peach's exclamations, decide to put on fake mustache to act like grown-ups. Peach explains she meant to propose to explore fun places, instead of playing with toys. Hearing this, Wario entered the conversation, claiming to know a place. Excited, Peach follows him, but the brothers join them, not trusting the stranger. Their mistrust is founded: after Wario takes them to an island after crossing a rope bridge, he cuts off the bridge, giving himself the title of king of the island, which he names "Wario Land", and declares that Mario and Luigi will be his slaves and Peach his wife. While she informs him that she is not into butt-chinned guys, the brothers rebutt that Peach had previously stated that she will marry a mustached guy, so Wario grabs a pair of crooked grass blades and makesshifts his own mustache. The brothers laugh at him, enraging him so much that he violently pummels the two. Hurt and with their fake mustache broken, the brothers run away crying.
The crying brothers stumble upon Kinoko Sennin de Arushindo, who was meditating at mountain base. He presents himself as a pretty strong individual, as he proves by dodging the brothers' surprise attack. They beg to become his disciple, so he asks them to retrieve a mushroom that grow on top of the island's mountain. While the brothers climb, Wario is stressing Peach to make him dinner, but she is unable to find good ingredients and when Wario loses sight of her, she disappears. Having reached the top, Mario grabs the Mushroom growing on the top, but then has to witness his brother losing his grip on the mountain surface and plummeting down to his demise. After returning to Kinoko Sennin, he puts the mushroom in his soup, and when Mario asks him if now he can become his disciple, the elder claims that he has nothing else to teach him, and turns into a giant mushroom. Mario understands that he was talking to the spirit of a mushroom.
Feeling hungry, Mario ends up eating the soup left on the campfire. Thanks to the mushroom, Mario becomes stronger and filled with power and energy and runs to face off Wario. Meanwhile, Wario finds Peach's crown and shoes on a bluff, and begins to think she escaped by swimming. Mario arrives, and misunderstanding what he sees, returns the punches to Wario, sending him flying into the mountain side, losing his cap (revealing his bald spot) and his fake mustache. Just then, both Luigi and Peach arrive: Luigi reveals that he was saved by Kinoko Sennin's flying staff, and he began to practice his jumping skills on the cliff, learning to cover great heights and distances, while Peach was atop a nearby palm tree to look for better ingredients. As Mario explains that a mushroom made him stronger, Wario attempts to copy his strenght by biting into some of them, only to start laughing strange (thus explaining his iconic giggle) as he picked up laughing mushrooms.
Leaving Wario on the island, Luigi picks Mario and Peach and jump back to the Mushroom Kingdom, thus letting Wario be consumed by hatred and revenge, and turning him into a prey for Aku no Keshin.
Chapter 2[edit]
プロジェクト
Present time. The Mario Bros. receive an invitation to attend the unveiling of a new golden statue modeled after them on the very same day. Having overslept, the brothers run to the ceremony, arriving just in time. Peach lets Mario do the honor, but when the veil is removed, there are only rocks: someone stole the golden statue. Looking around, Mario spots four individuals with the statue on the beach. They take the statue on a pirate ship, the SS Tea Cup, and, unlike what the heroes were thinking, there are not Wario or Bowser's henchmen: they are D.D.s, members of the Brown Sugar Pirates, the scourge of Capri Sea. As the ship sails away, Peach grows worried: she asked her father to help finance the statue, and she will get in trouble if the pirates get away with it. Just then Wario, sporting a new explorer hat, arrives. He offers to chase the pirates with his rowboat. While free from Aku no Keshin's influence, Peach, Mario, and Luigi are still reluctant to believe in Wario reformation and decide to follow him.
With Wario as the captain and bowloader, and the Mario Bros. to the rows, the boat quickly reaches the ship, but they crash into it and sink down. Someone comes to Wario's rescue: a mermaid, very identical to Daisy, presenting herself as a Water Spirit, presenting him with three pots, telling him that everything will be clear in the near future. Wario wakes up with the others on a beach. A Wanderin' Goom welcomes them to Kitchen Island, a floating island in the Capri Sea and the Black Sugar Pirates hideout. The Goom is then kicked by his collegues, who then proceeds to surround the protagonists. With Peach still dazing off, Mario hides her inside a barrel, while he, Luigi, and Wario fend off against the Pirate Gooms, Demon Bats, Togemaru, and Yadorā. However, a walrus-like pirate called Gaugau, who was hiding in a crate, spots Peach and thros his daggers against the barrel. Thankfully unharmed, Peach wakes up, spins, and sends back the daggers to the sender, pinning the Gaugau, against the wall. After dealing with the small pirates, Mario interrogates the Gaugau about the location of the statue. Initially stern, the Gaugau cracks after a quick session of tickle torture, and directs the heroes to a cave.
Entering the cave, Mario asks why Peach has not come out of the barrel. Before she can respond, Mario comments that maybe her big butt got stuck, but gets punished by the princess, who crashes into him, breaking the barrel. Mario gets knocked out cold, and the timing could have not been worse: the pirate general Spiked Koopa and an army of Penkoons surrond Mario, Peach, and Luigi, while Wario wonders off into the cave (unaware or uncaring that he is leaving his allies behind). While Luigi does his best to protect Mario and Peach from the Penkoons' bombs, with a shell attack, Spike Koopa knocks Luigi out. In the meantime, Wario discovers a glimmering object deep within the cave: a Bull Pot. The voice of the Water Spirit leads him to pick up the vicking helmet sitting inside the pot and to wear it. Doing so, Wario is invested by such strenght that his shirt rips apart because of his muscular mass, having become Bull Wario.
Back to the others, Peach is still trying to wake up Mario, while Spiked Koopa promises to be gentle with her. Just then Wario dashes in, sending the Penkoons flying. Spiked Koopa goes to attack him, but Bull Wario punches him in the stomach, killing him and reducing him into a rain of Golden Coins. While Wario collects the loot, Peach is struck by his strong physique and heroic side, and sews his ripped shirt as a gest of gratitude. Just then, Mario wakes up and, distraught because Wario stole his "main hero" title, quickly goes looking for the statue. He finds a Guragura and orders him to talk. He directs them to a locked skull, which can be opened with a 10 Gold Coin. Once again, Wario gets his moment to shine by using his looted coins to open the way.
Meanwhile, the next pirate general, the Minotaur, guardian of the Mt. Teapot, is watching the heroes on a screen, eager to face Wario.
At the same time, in Yosu Ko, where Yoshi is relaxing, he spots a Mario-shaped cloud in the sky dissipating, understanding that his friend is in trouble.
Chapter 3[edit]
マリオ、パワーアップだぜっ!! (Mario, power up!!)
With the road cleared, Wario orders Mario to scout ahead, but he refuses to take orders from him, however, Peach rebutts that he should listen to such strong captain, gifted with a "beautiful butt-chin". As Mario could have not been more hurt by that statement, Wario also adds that, without Yoshi he is only half the hero he claims to be. Sadden, Mario scouts ahead, but as he crosses the open door, he falls into Lake Asparagus, at the foot of Mt. Teapot. Leaving Mario to deal with the underwater pirates, Wario takes Peach across the lake with a boat, and at one point, the Water Spirit sneakily leaves another pot. Underwater, Mario is attacked by three Pinwheels, who nearly cut him to pieces. Istinctively, Mario orders Yoshi to eat them, only to realize Yoshi is not there and Wario was right about him being nothing without him. Just then, the Pinwheels are abducted by a prehensile tongue: Yoshi actually arrived, thanks to the magical property of Yosu Ko, connecting it to other lakes around the world.
Right after, Yoshi is turned into an helmet: a Helmut explains that Yoshi encountered the wrath of the feared pirate captain, but if he dares to know more, he can get his answer by beating the area's boss on top of Mt. Teapot. Furious to be turned into a helmet, Yoshi asks Mario to ware him and use his fire-breathing ability to defeat the boss and get his revenge. Back to the surface, Mario tries to show off his new-found power, but Wario also has been provided with a fire-breathing helmet and is showing it off to Peach, whose admiration for him grows even more. And when Wario mocks Mario's "froggy helmet", he realises it is Yoshi, and the laughing ensues. As that was not enough, he challenges Mario to a race to the top of the mountain: first to conquer it will be the permanent captain.
Meanwhile, Luigi is tended to by the kind Wanderin' Goom that welcomed them to the island. When Luigi notices he was left behind, the Goom suggests that his friends did it to prevent him from getting hurt further. Moved by those words, Luigi hugs the Goom, who is revealed to be a girl, so he gifts her a ribbon. The Gaugau, still pinned to the wall, asks to be released, but Luigi decides to tie him up and force him to guide him and Goom to the Golden Statue. Seeing that Spiked Koopa was defeated, Gaugau surrenders and leads Luigi to the Floater.
Having reached the other side of the lake, the race begins. While Peach remains down to eat an asparagus tree, Wario and Mario begin to climb the mountain. Wario first resorts in fart above Mario to make him gag and slow down, but he is soon punished when two Pecans drop bombs on him, leaving him dangling on a rope. While Wario uses his Dragon helmet against the Pecans, Mario climbs past him, but gets pecked by two Watches. Seeing a Chicken Duck, Wario rides it and arrives at what he believes to be the top, already celebrating. From a flying saucer above him, the Minotaur tells him he is on the "spout" of Mt. Teapot. He then drops the saucer (which is Mt. Teapot's "lid") on the actual top, causing the tea water to sprout under Wario, sending him flying down the mountain.
Mario reaches the lid, and Minotaur, with suggestive wording and posing, wears his nose ring, suggests getting naked, and prepares for a wrestling match on the mountain top. During the fight, Mario finally puts together that the Minotaur is not a crossdresser who is flirt-fighting with him, he is gay and flirt-fighting with him. Yoshi Helmet spits fire into his face and finally getting the hint that Mario is not interested in him, tackles him. The impact sends Yoshi Helmet flies off Mario's head, and ends up facing away (unable to breathe fire against the enemy), while he nearly falls down the mountain, holding to the edge. Minotaur steps forward to finish the job, but Mario tricks him to get his face closer to him, grabs the nose ring, and pulls Minotaur down the mountain, straight into the fiery Stove Canyon. Before he meets a fiery demise, Mario asks him if he wants to report to him the hint to find the Golden Statue, but Minotaur only quotes Bob in a Bottle before being consumed by the flames.
Disappointed by that, Mario takes Yoshi and slides down the mountain through the waterfall to gloat to Wario about his victory, but Wario has some bad news: Princess Peach has gone missing.
Chapter 4[edit]
あまいにおいにご
During the last scene of the previous chapter, Peach left her asparagus meal to follow the sweet smell of sherbets behind the mountain, arriving at Penguin's ice cream stand. Due to her cuteness, Peach gets a sherbet for free, but as she licks it, Peach freezes up on the spot into an ice statue. Happy, Penguin takes her and his previous frozen victim, the Water Spirit, and takes them to Sherbet Land.
Wario and Mario begin to look for Peach, but the former keeps getting distracted by the numerous treasure chests with various treasures taken by the pirates, inside. Mario repprehands him for his greed, even telling him he should follow his orders as he won the bet, but Wario claims that, without witnesses or a (useful) hint from the boss, he cannot prove he arrived to the top. What is worse, one of the treasures, is an harp and when Wario stings the chords, Mario falls asleep and he takes the opportunity to run to the next area: Stove Canyon. When Mario wakes up a bit later, Yoshi has located a sweet smell coming from behind the mountain and they both find Sherbet Land.
With the icy road, Mario takes the idea of making a pair of skiis out of two asparagus from the lake. He then begins to explore the area with Yoshi Helmet. A Bucket Head try to stop them, but Yoshi uses his fire breath to melt his snowflakes and his body, which Mario destroys by skiing into, leaving only the head, which rolls away. Descending the slope, Mario finds the entrance to a cave, but fails to notice a Pouncer right above the passage. Just as he thinks he will be crushed by the Thwomp-like being, the Floater appears and grabs Mario before that happens. Luigi, little Miss Goom, and their Gaugau hostage disembark the Floater airship, and Mario explains the situation, while Luigi informs him that he saw Wario going to the Stove Canyon while they came here under Gaugau's instruction to find the Golden Statue. Just then, Gaugau frees himself from the ropes, reveals he had lied, then removes his walrus-helmet to reveal he is a wolf (as he then clarifies, the artist misinterpreted his in-game sprite when he made chapter 2, and has only now noticed his mistake after seeing the artwork) and attacks the brothers by throwing daggers. Luigi deflects them with a treasure he found on the way, a mug, and then uses the daggers to makeshift a pair of ice-skate blades to better travel across the ice.
Gaugau flees into the cave, by jumping over the Pouncer spikeless top. Following him, Mario and Luigi, carrying Yoshi and Miss Goom on their heads, enter the cave, much to the Pouncer's frustration. Inside the cave, Gaugau enters Harisu territory, which at first they appear as squirrels, before attacking the intruder with their hidden quills. Mario and Luigi stop before crossing the line of the Harisu territory, but just then they realize that the Pouncer followed them by sliding on the floor, blocking the road. Yoshi quickly melts a hole in the wall and Mario and Luigi hide in the crevace, abandoning their makeshift skiis and ice-skates, letting the Pouncer run over the Gaugau, the Harisu, and then crash into the wall and falling into the sea. As they find more treasure, the Penguin lures Miss Goom away and offers her his sherbet, freezing and taking her too. Luigi spots him and the brothers chase the Penguin into his dark lair. Using a treasure they found, an oil lamp, Mario illuminates the room, revealing a collection of frozen women, including Peach.
Penguin, hidden somewhere, explains he values the beuty of a woman, so, if they are trapped in ice, their beuty will never wither as ice statues. Just then, Penguin appears wearing his spiked glove and helmet, and nearly kills Mario with one blow, but he parries the punch with another treasure, a shield, which is blown out of his hand, landing on Luigi's head and knocking him out. Yoshi proposes to use his fire breath, but Mario stops him, worried that the heat will destroy the statues. Just as Penguin prepares to throw another blow, the Bucket Head's head, having rolled so much to have gained more snowy mass and has become giant, crashes into the Penguin's lair. Mario trips and Yoshi Helmet falls off his head. Reaching out for him in the dark, Mario inadvertently grabs the third Power Up Pot that the frozen Water Spirit is holding: the Jet Pot, turning him into Jet Mario. With the power of flight, Mario quickly fends off against the Penguin and defeats him. Mario then orders him to tell him who is his captain, but the Penguin just says that the captain "is like Hikaru Ijūin," before passing away, much to Mario's frustration. With his defeat, the ice statues return to be alive again and the women are all freed. As Peach thanks Mario, and asks for forgiveness for how he treated him before, and Luigi is thanked by Miss Goom, the group proceed to Stove Canyon.
The Water Spirit, meanwhile, is revealed to be the actual Princess Daisy in a mermaid costume, and she was planning to aid Wario to make Peach fall in love with him and break up her and Mario up.
GO! GO! Mario Paint Theater[edit]
Bowser has created a machine to bring Mario Paint creations to life, the Koopa Tokusei, and his plan is to create a Fake Mario to ruin his reputation.
The first victim of this imposter Mario, just so happens to be Princess Peach, whom she gets punched in the head and gets her skirt flipped by Fake Mario. Shocked and disgusted by his behavior, she does not hesitate when Bowser offers his shoulder to cry on. Just as Fake Mario goes to make more evil deeds, the real deal arrives and is left shocked when Peach walks away in Bowser's arms. Still flabergasted, Mario almost fails to notice his pixellated double running away with stolen bakery goods, and has now to escape two angry Paragoomba bakers, who mistook him for the thief. Mario hides in Bowser's Castle, where he finds the Koopa Tokusei.
Moments later, while Peach is enjoying a date with Bowser in the park, Fake Mario arrives and beats his creator. As Peach yells at him to stop it, Fake Mario is cancelled, and a fake Bowser is created instead. Bowser realizes that his plan was discovered and Mario appears, showing to Peach the machine and explaining the misunderstanding. He then adds that such inventions should be used for good, so he forces the Fake Bowser to do good deeds, such as helping the elderly and cleaning the park, ruining Bowser's evil reputation. Peach, later joined by Toad, Luigi, and Yoshi, try out the machine, creating silly self-portrait of themselves, who are then ordered to boss around Fake Bowser. Exhausted, Bowser makes his exit from the scene.
