Chapter 1[edit]

Chapter 1

あく帝王ていおう„ワリオ登場とうじょう!!("Evil Emperor" Wario appears!!)

While Mario was saving Daisy from Tatanga, now reduced to be the princess' servant, a mysterious individual was making his way to Mario's castle in Mario Land. Thanks to his resemblance to Mario, the individual got to the treasure room, only to find six Golden Coins and Peach's love letters. Only when he got out with the former, the Goomba guards noticed that he was not the castle's owner, but by then it was too late: the mysterious man used his hypnotic skills to convince everyone in Mario Land to become evil and rotten to the core. Then, he used the six coins to summon five monsters, and entrusted them with one Golden Coin each.

Back in Sarasaland, people are celebrating the release of Super Mario Land 2, and while Daisy bickers with Princess Peach on who shall be the damsel in distress this time around, Luigi explains that neither of them are in the game, so the two suggests that maybe Luigi or Yoshi are going to be the one to be rescued. A Mario-like figure approaches and mocks them for their delusions. Mistaking him for Mario, the group yells at him, but just then they realize something is wrong in "Mario's" hat and mustache: that is because he is his evil alter-ego, Wario. Mario, who was just sleeping on a hammock, gets woken up by Luigi and comes face to face with the evil twin. Wario runs away into the sea, so Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, and Tatanga follow him on the Marine Pop.

The chase leads to an island covered by the fog, and when exploring it, the group comes face to face with a giant robot of Mario. Only then, Mario and Luigi recognize this to be their homecountry, a kingdom their family rule and where they used to play during their childhood. Wario appears on top of the robot, claiming that when they abandoned this land to be the Mushroom and Sarasaland kingdoms heroes, he took over it to prove his superiority. While escaping from the robot's stomps, Mario rescues a rabbit and hides in a tall grass patch. While Wario furiously searches for him, the rabbit leads Mario into a hole, where he meets the Rabbit Princess. To reward him for protecting the rabbit, she gives him a Carrot. Confused, Mario eats it, but does not feel anything changing, not noticing the bunny ears, but following the princess' suggestion, he makes a jump.

Leaping so high to see the whole Mario Land from the sky, Mario lands on top of Wario, kicking him off the robot, which stops on the Eastern coast of the island. While Mario finally takes notice of the bunny ears and gets laughed at it by Luigi, Wario spots Tatanga and offers him a place as the sixth evil guardians. Daisy reminds him that he was successfully rehabilitated and is now a good guy (and that also Mario could beat him a second time in case of betrayal). After a lot of deliberation, Tatanga decides to join Wario after being presented with a new and improved spaceship (something that was summoned with the other guardians).

Avoiding the missile from the spaceship, Mario and Luigi take the princesses and Yoshi to Mario's castle gates, but a new problem arises: the gate is blocked, and the keys are the six Golden Coins now in the hands of the six guardians. Wario, riding a black cloud, places himself on top of the castle, and challenges Mario to get back his land, claiming that he will be waiting for him in the throne room. Mario accepts the duel, but when he asks his friends to follow him, they retreat to the Marine Pop, scared off by the guardians. Mario is now alone, his only support: all the bunny girls in the world ("just kidding" adds the author).

Chapter 2[edit]

Chapter 2

強力きょうりよくすけ„ヘラクラス登場とうじょう!!("Stong Helper" Battle Beetle appears!!)

As Mario is witnessing his land reduced to a dump by the brainwashed inhabitants, Wario reappears on a black cloud, holding Daisy hostage. When Mario demands to know why he did this, Wario drops a letter written by the princess, in which she asked to be kidnapped to star as the damsel in distress of this game. Unsurprised but still upset at his rival, Mario declares that he will still rescue the princess, but he has no idea where to commence his search for the Golden Coins and when Wario summons a magical barrier around the castle's roof, Mario starts to feel down. Just then, a Battle Beetle appears. Mario recognize him as his pet beetle that he adopted in his youth, after releasing it, he went to Kyushu, therefore did not get brainwashed, so he decides to help Mario, and he suggests checking the Tree Zone first.

While going to the Tree Zone, the two find Peach by the Mario Land Entrance. She claims that she changed her mind and wants to help, while in reality she does not want Daisy to get all the glory as a guest star. While entering the Tree Zone, the trio is attacked by numerous critters: Tamara, Bopping Toadies, Unera, Grubbies, Ragumo, and a Spikey. After being surrounded by them, Mario grabs the Carrot, turns into Bunny Mario, grabs Peach and Battle Beetle, and leaps over the enemies. Safe and sound inside the tree trunk, the trio finds it difficult to traverse the sap-filled course. When attacked by some Moofishes, the trio also spots some Noko Bombettes approaching and litting their fuses. The heroes grab them and throw at the Moofishes, reducing them into stakes.

While Mario and Peach feasts on the meat, Battle Beetle (being a vegetarian), spots some honeycombs and realizes they entered the beehive. He asks Mario and Peach to be quite to not allarm the Beebee, but a gust of wing sends some of Peach's hair in Mario's nose, causing him to sneeze. The Beebee wake up and chase the trio, but Peach kills them with a bug spray. When the Skeleton Bees are woken up as well, the trio finds an exit to the tree branches, finally safe from the bees. Suddenly, a giant Bigbee falls onto Battle Beetle, squashing him and flattening him like a pancake. To avenge him, Mario grabs a Fire Flower, turns into Fire Mario, and burns the enemy (revealing actor Watanabe Tōru inside).

Mario spots a Heavy Zed sleeping on the branches, who still recognizes Mario as the rightful ruler of the land, since he was asleep when Wario brainwashed the inhabitants. Heavy Zed invites Mario to ride him, so he can take him to the guardian of the area on the tree top: Big Bird. Mario obliges, and comes face to face with the area boss, who calls him the "fake Wario" and attacks him. Big Bird bests Mario and, about to throw him off the tree, Peach catches his attention: using the flattened up Battle Beetle, now appearing bigger, she claims that he will face Mario's "giant" ally next. Surprised, Big Bird unclutches Mario and he grabs the egg in his nest and smashes it on the boss' head. Big Bird disappears, the Golden Coin appears inside the egg and the trio rejoices.

Meanwhile, in Wario's Castle, one of Wario's ritual candles dies, informing him of Big Bird's death and Mario reclaiming of the six zones. Wario claims that he underestimated Mario, but will soon put remedy on this mistake, while Daisy is happily watching Beauty and the Beast.

Chapter 3[edit]

Chapter 3

“かわいい魔女まじよ!?„ケイプ登場とうじょう!!("Cute Witch!?" Collector appears!!)

While riding his black cloud, Wario (taking Daisy along), arrive at Macro Zone, to inform sewer rat to be ready to face Mario. Rat assures Wario that he will not be defeated, proving his point by perforating the house's roof with his drill-nose, causing him to fall with some books at ground floor, where he starts reading Thumbelina. As Wario sighs in frustration, a cute witch girl known as collector appears from the chimney, reassuring Wario that she will help him, to which Wario gets confused: he has no recollection of such ally. Seeing Mario, Peach, and the still flattened up Battle Beetle approaching, collector casts a spell that shrinks the trio for thirty minutes. Taking advantage of this, Wario runs at them and attempts to squash them. Mario and Peach run away, leaving Battle Beetle behind, and take refuge inside Daisy's clothes, causing her to laugh from the ticklish sensation. Wario tries to catch them with a backscratcher, but the two jump out and dives into a hole. Disappointed, Wario takes Daisy back to the castle.

Inside the hole, Peach and Mario meet the collector offering to be their guide. An Ant, now appearing bigger than them, approaches, but Mario stomps on it. Peach scolds him that he should not hurt bugs, but she backtracks on her word after another Ant bites her head, kicking it. Witnessing their friends dying, a Goronto warns the nest and soon, Mario, Peach, and collector are chased by Chikunto and Dokanto. Collector takes everyone to safety by taking a Warp Pipe that leads to the sewer system, from which they pop out in the house kitchen sink. While getting out, Peach is hit by a droplet from the faucet, getting completely soaked. Collector takes her to a gas stove and turns it on to quickly dry her. Peach has had enough, and demands to know if she is playing some sort of game. In response to this, collector casts a spell onto Mario, taking his heart out: the spell makes so that whoever hold his heart, Mario will be passionately on the holder's side. Because of this, Mario starts to yell at Peach to stop accusing collector. Peach storms off in anger, but right then, the sewer rat appears. Influenced by the book he read, he snatches Peach, calling her "Princess Thumbelina".

Just then, Battle Beetle is swept into the water, causing him to return to normal. He then barges into the house through the window. Startled, collector drops the heart, and Battle Beetle grabs it. With her leverage on, collector drops her act, revealing to be the Witch, returning to the Pumpkin Zone. After puking at the idea of having fallen in love with that hag, Mario directs his passionate attention to Battle Beetle, who throws the heart to Peach. Sewer rat takes her up the chimney, followed by Mario and Battle Beetle, arriving to the attic. Taking advantage of the darkness, sewer rat swoops left and right, injuring Mario with his nose drill. Mario takes out the Carrot and, thanks to the Bunny ears, Mario is able to locate the direction of the guardian, kicking him right in the nose, causing it to break. Sewer rat leap in the air in pain, breaking through the roof and leaving his Golden Coin behind. Peach returns Mario's heart and, as the shrinking spell wears off, the trio proceed to the next zone. Meanwhile, at the castle, having witnessed everything from a magic mirror, Daisy is already plotting how to exploit the heart spell in her favor, while Wario grumbles in frustration.

Chapter 4[edit]

Chapter 4

だい激闘げきとう!!„ ("Great Fierce Battle!!")

While Wario is tormented by Daisy's culinary requests, the Witch is preparing to end Mario in Pumpkin Zone and free Wario from his hostage's torment. Meanwhile, Peach suggests using the coins they have collected to immediately enjoy on a romantic cruise with Mario, but he refuses. Battle Beetle try to console her, but Peach shoos him away, claiming that she does not like bugs, and she is already holding back to not yell at him, leaving Beetle stunned and sad. Peach then gets distracted by a Crane Game, from which she wins a Carrot. Mario yells at her that their priority should be Daisy, but Peach sway the conversation by giving him a kiss on the cheek. Just then, Daisy, wearing torn-up clothes, arrives. Seeing such a scene, she runs away in tears into the Pumpkin Zone, followed by Mario and Peach.

They arrive in the Japanese-looking graveyard, but claiming to not have Japanese origins, they both are not fazed by the odd-looking Bero and Karakara, the latter of which are used as umbrellas, then flee in embarrassment after the heroes almost peaked under them. Inside a temple, Mario asks the monks if they saw Daisy passing by. They turn around, revealing to be Kyororo, which demands that their riddle be solved if they want to pass through. Peach and Mario, now frightened, run away, but they both clash into a bell, and when the monsters catch up to them, it is revealed that their puzzle is a simple crossword. Mario claims as such, and while the Kyororo are distracted and plan a more difficult one, Mario and Peach keeps on running, arriving to a well, where Daisy is crying, Peach approaches to help her get out, but Daisy turns into a Piranha Plant, but Mario manages to stop it by burning it with the Fire form.

Proceeding into a Haunted House, the duo comes across what they think are multiple Jason Voorheeses, only for them to be revealed to be masked Goombas. The two of them squash the Goombas, but due to the unholy ground of the house, any killed Goomba will turn into a ghost. Now claiming to have Japanese heritages, Peach and Mario ignores the "western-ghost" and flee into Witch's hut. Inside they find Daisy, but she reveals to be the Witch. She pins Peach into the ground with her wand, and then uses some fangs to pin Mario to one of her cauldron lid, which is ready to jump, due to the steam, into the spiked ceiling. She then claims she will use the magic potion inside to turn Peach into a lizard.

Peach cries to Battle Beetle to help them. Without hesitation, he uses his horn to cut open the Pumpkin Zone, letting some sunlight in. As the Witch staggers back, Peach gets free, takes a bite out of her Carrot, and with her Bunny form rescues Mario from certain death. This causes the potion to fall onto the Witch, turning her into a lizard. Scared, she runs away, leaving her moving tail behind, but Battle Beetle crushes her, leaving behind the Golden Coin. Pumpkin Zone is saved, but Battle Beetle is too injured by the strain of breaking open the Zone, and with one last breath, he thanks Mario for the splendid memories, forgives Peach for the mean thing she said early, and bids them both good luck with Wario, before dying.

Meanwhile, at Wario's Castle, Daisy had her way with the kitchen, and has tamed Wario with her crêpes. Just then, Kurokyura arrives and informs Wario of what happened to the Witch. Furious, Wario orders the "Super Wario Bot" to go and destroy Mario.

4-koma[edit]

おでかけ本山もとちん (Outing Mototin)

  • Mototin's routine is the following: at 5:55 AM he wakes up for a meeting at Ponhon editorial, which is not part of Kodansha. Even worse, its venue constantly changes place. At 1:00 PM, Mototin has given up and if they want him to show up, he has some (ridicolous) demands, causing him to be dragged to the meeting by force by Henshū at 3:00 PM.
  • After work, at 4:00 PM, Mototin goes dumpster diving for recyclable writing tools, by 5:00 PM is walking hands full at home, and by 6:00 he is already tucked in bed to recover from the tiresome day.
