The Owl Course,[1] also referred to as Final Boss: The Big Bird,[2] is the final level of the Tree Zone in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. This level takes place at the top of the tree. The Big Bird is fought at the end of this level.
Near the start of the level is a moving platform Mario can use to reach a ? Block containing a Fire Flower. Next are some Para-Goombas hovering over small pits. After that is a sleeping owl known as Heavy Zed. Mario must jump on him to wake him and cause him to start flying, allowing him to reach a higher platform. There are then two more Heavy Zeds Mario can use as platforms to make it across to two ? Blocks. After this are clouds Mario can also use as platforms. The Mid-Point Bell is just ahead.
Here, there is the Dondon, followed by lifts Mario can use to reach two more ? Blocks. The one on the left contains a Carrot, while the one on the right contains a 1-Up Heart. There is then a pipe Mario can go up to get to a Para-Goomba and fifteen ? Blocks. A Fire Flower can be found in one of the blocks, while a Star can be found in another. There is then another pipe Mario can use to get back down. There is a group of coins between the pipes. Ahead of this are a few more Para-Goombas and clouds, with a pipe leading to the battle with the Big Bird at the very end.

- Decorative clouds which resemble the letters M and W (likely for Mario and Wario) can be seen in this level. They are located behind the ? Block containing a 1 UP Heart and just before the pipe at the end of the level, respectively.
