Nanashi no Chōchin Ankō
The Nanashi no Chōchin Ankō in Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land 3
Species Anglerfish
Appears in Super Mario Kodansha manga (Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land 3) (1995)

The Nanashi no Chōchin Ankō is an anglerfish enemy that was cut during Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 production.[1] The sole image in which it appears, does not give any sort of information on the behavior it would have had.

Despite its shortcomings, just like the Giant Squirrel from Donkey Kong, the enemy appears in the Super Mario Kodansha manga, although as a disguise the brainwashed Wario takes to scare off Mario in Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land 3. While adventuring in the Stove Canyon, Mario is attacked by Wario, disguised as the cut enemy (that Mario recognizes by citing the Nintendo Power pamphlet in which he is depicted). Mario is chased off by Wario, and they both nearly fall down a gorge with lava at the bottom, but Mario manages to hold to the border, and Wario hangs from his overalls. While Mario pulls himself up, Wario's weight causes his pants to drop, leaving Mario naked exposed in front of Daisy. Right after, Wario drops the costume and leaves the embarassed Mario to the brainwashed Luigi.
