A Bucket Head is a rare snowman-like enemy in the game Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 that wears a small, red bucket on its sizable head, which has Captain Syrup's trademark skull on it.

History

Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3

The chilly creatures are able to launch large snowflake-like projectiles from their mouths. These projectiles are unable to leave the surfaces in which they come into contact; instead, they travel along them, following sudden drops, upward cliffs, and the ground until hitting the ceiling. Like most other enemies, Bucket Heads can be flipped over and picked up by Wario. However, they can quickly jump back to their feet; only a body slam can defeat them for good and release the coin that they, like all enemies, have. They tend to appear in tight passageways to make it harder to dodge their projectiles and defeat them, and appear solely in Sherbet Land.

Super Mario Kodansha manga

In Super Mario Kodansha manga, a Bucket Head appears in chapter 4 of Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land 1. While Mario and Yoshi Metto are skiing down Sherbet Land, a Bucket Head tries to stop them, but Yoshi melts his projectiles and body, while Mario breaks through it, leaving only the head behind. Left alone, the head eventually starts rolling down, growing in volume, and ends up breaking Penguin's lair, allowing Mario to see with the sunlight and pick up a Jet Pot.

In the colored 4-koma section in Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land 2, a comparison is made between Sasuku from Joy Mech Fight and then a play on words on his Japanese name which leads him to throw stones at Wario.

In one of Daimaru Roketto's skits in Super Mario 4-koma Daikōshin, Wario uses the Bucket Head's snowflake projectiles to enjoy some snow games.

Super Mario-kun

In Super Mario-kun, a Bucket Head appears as the chapter's antagonist in chapter 11 of volume 11. While exploring Sherbet Land, Wario, Mario, and Yoshi are attacked by a large Bucket Head. At first they do not see him as a dangerous enemy, even making an igloo base inside his belly, but when Wario and Yoshi are frozen by his snowflake projectiles, Mario finally recognizes the threat, especially when his fireballs seems to counter very little. He finds the Hero's Shield, which he uses to deflect the snowflakes against the Bucket Head, but they make it stronger and finally Mario is hit and turned into a snowman. As the Bucket Head cheers in triumph, Mario rolls down a hill, running over the enemy and dunking everyone in a natural hot spring, which frees everyone from Bucket Head's curses, and melts the snowman.

Mario no Bōken Land

When Mario and Wario confront Captain Syrup, she first sics an army of Bucket Heads, who nearly freeze the duo with their icy breaths. Their puzzle page involves inclining the page to read the stretched out words they are blowing out of their mouths and understand what it says, which is「れいとうこうせん」(`Reitō Kōsen, "Frozen Beam").
