"Love Somebody" is a reggae/pop song by Japanese singer Yūji Oda and British-Jamaican vocalist Maxi Priest. It was popularized by its use as the ending theme to the Japanese police comedy-drama Bayside Shakedown. A cover of it appears as a playable song in the Japanese version of Donkey Konga.

Lyrics[edit]

Original lyrics Romaji lyrics English translation

My love comes straight from the heart
As a friend, as a friend
Even though we are far apart

La, la, la, love somebody tonight
La, la, la, la, la, love somebody for life
And I will never never never never never never never let love go
I wanna love somebody tonight

La, la, la, love somebody tonight
La, la, la, la, la, love somebody for life
And I will never never never never never never never let love go
I wanna love somebody tonight

Because I still remember the dream I had that day
Somehow, I made it through the aimless days
It's hard to live without forgetting the people you care about
I just want to feel that we're living in the same era
Since you found me, there's only one thing I've been looking for
