A Mega Monty Mole, under the name Super Choropū (スーパーチョロプー,[2] "Super Monty Mole"), appears in volume 1 of Super Mario-kun, angry at Mario and Yoshi for killing its Monty Mole friends. It tries killing Mario and Yoshi, but it kicks Mario into a ? Block filled with Fire Flowers, which leads to it getting burned by Mario.

A Mega Monty Mole mother named Choropūko appears in volume 23 with her children. She gets mad at Mario for putting golf balls in her home.

Mega Monty Moles are the only species of Monty Moles to first appear in manga, to then later appear in games.

A Mega Monty Mole appears in the 4koma strip titled "Skyscraper Blues" in the second Mario Kart 64 volume of 4koma Manga Kingdom. They attempt to burrow through the hole seen in Big Donut, but they end up getting scorched by the lava. The Mega Monty Mole then attempts to dig through Block Fort, but fails due to the lack of a hole in the course.
