Flower Cup
| It has been suggested that Flower Tourney be merged into this article. (discuss) |
The Flower Cup is a cup usually appearing as the second cup in the Mario Kart series. It is represented by a Fire Flower.
This cup usually exclusively features new courses, except for Mario Kart World, where the Flower Cup is comprised entirely of returning courses instead. It is slightly more difficult than the Mushroom Cup, and usually includes a Mario Circuit as its first or second course. The Flower Cup is available from the start in every mainline Mario Kart game except Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8, where it is unlocked by completing the Mushroom Cup. In games that do not have all cups available from the start, completing the Flower Cup in third place or higher unlocks the Star Cup.
In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Flower Cup is one of two cups themed around a flower, alongside the Boomerang Cup. In Mario Kart World, the cup is set around the world's desert area, and it is mirrored by the Ice Rally in Knockout Tour.

Mario Tennis series[edit]
The Flower Cup is usually the second cup in the Mario Tennis series, unlocked after the completion of the Mushroom Cup. In singles, it features an eight players bracket with computer opponents. In Mario Tennis, Mario Power Tennis, Mario Tennis Aces and Mario Tennis Fever, the cup takes place on a Clay Court. In Mario Tennis Open, it is played on the Wario Dunes court instead. In Mario Tennis, the first two rounds in the Mushroom Cup consist of one set of two games each, while the final round consists of three sets of two games, in all following games, only the first round consists of one set, while the other two rounds are made up of three sets each.
Unlockables[edit]
In every Mario Tennis game except for Mario Tennis Open, completing the Flower Cup unlocks the Star Cup. In the latter, it unlocks the Banana Cup instead. In Mario Power Tennis, playable characters Fly Guy and Paratroopa are unlocked by winning all World Open cups (Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup and Star Cup) in singles and in doubles, respectively. In Mario Tennis Fever, playable characters Baby Peach and Nabbit are unlocked by winning the singles and doubles Flower Cup, respectively.

By finishing in the top three, the Crater Field stadium and the Star Cup are unlocked. The Super Flower Cup is a longer version of the Flower Cup.

Mario Hoops 3-on-3 features the Flower Tourney, which is similar to Flower Cups in other sports games.
Mario Sports Mix[edit]
In Mario Sports Mix, the Flower Cup is the second cup to be played in the tournament modes of each of the game's sports, unlocked after the completion of the Mushroom Cup. It is composed of three rounds, each of which takes place in a different court. The courts available vary depending on the sport played.

- Mario Kart Wii trading card: "Talk about a diverse set of tracks; the tracks that make up the Flower Cup must be located at the four corners of the Mushroom Kingdom! The layouts are great for developing your skills and the surroundings will keep you interested while you look for ways to reduce your lap times."

Notes[edit]
- Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart World have the only versions of the cup to not feature a Mario Circuit, which instead appears in the Star Cup and Special Cup respectively (though in the latter case, Mario Circuit is the first three Mario Circuits of Super Mario Kart combined together, while an entirely new, similarly themed course, Mario Bros. Circuit, appears in the Mushroom Cup).
- This is the only cup in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! whose courses all share their music with other courses in the game: Mushroom Bridge uses the same music as Mushroom City, Mario Circuit uses the same music as Luigi Circuit and Yoshi Circuit, Daisy Cruiser uses the same music as Peach Beach, and Waluigi Stadium uses the same music as Wario Colosseum.
- The European website for Mario Kart: Double Dash!! uses a unique version of the cup's emblem, sporting a design reminiscent of the Fire Flower's appearance in games such as Super Mario World and Mario Kart 64.[9]
