Gooper Blooper Volley is a Special Game in Mario Power Tennis. It is set on the Gooper Blooper Court, situated in Ricco Harbor on the platform where Gooper Blooper is fought for the second time in Super Mario Sunshine. Gooper Blooper appears as the opponent, using all four of his tentacles to volley the tennis ball back to the player. If the ball touches the court marked with a cross or if the player misses the ball, the minigame ends in a failure. When Gooper Blooper volleys a ball, he drops a racquet and uses one of the different-colored boxes by the side of him to fetch another one. The color of the square that the ball bounces in determines which racket Gooper Blooper hits the ball. A game similar to Gooper Blooper Volley is found in Mario Tennis Open called Galaxy Rally.

In the Wii version, players get two extra chances before they fail.
