The bandit boss is the boss of the "Shy Guy Train Tussle" co-op challenge in Mario Tennis Aces. He is a big Bandit Guy who is the leader of the Shy Guy bandits who have stolen a large loot, which must be recovered by the players by defeating the gang.

Throughout the entire challenge, the players must defeat the bandit boss's minions and recover the stolen loot. Upon reaching the fourth round, the bandit boss appear wearing a yellow bandana, and the battle begin. To defeat the bandit boss, players must hit him and recover 200 coins before the 30-second timer runs out. Each shot gives five coins to the team. During the battle, the bandit boss will jump to the sides or towards the train, occasionally throwing Bob-ombs at each player. If a Bob-omb hits a player, it explodes and unables them to shoot for a short period of time. Bob-ombs can be thrown back at the bandit boss and give 15 coins if they hit. After losing all his health, the bandit boss falls to the ground and disappears, allowing the players to advance to the next round.

Upon reaching round eight, the bandit boss reappears, but with a red bandana. This time, he is faster, jumping more quickly, running sideways, and throwing Bob-ombs rapidly. After the bandit boss loses all his health, he will perform a final attack, launching a Mega Bob-omb at the players. Each player must return the Bob-omb once. If they fail, the bandit boss will launch another Mega Bob-omb. After all four players return the Mega Bob-omb to him, he falls to the ground and vanishes, completing the challenge. If the timer runs out while the bandit boss's final attack is in progress, the battle will not end until the attack finishes, whether the players fail or the bandit boss is defeated.
