Passengers during the Adventure mode

Passengers[1] are a type of obstacle on the Snowfall Mountain court in Mario Tennis Aces. They are formed of a crowd of red and green Koopa Troopas, Goombas, Stone Spikes and Shy Guys with rackets. Some Koopa Troopas also push small carts holding carrying packaged. The number of passengers in a crowd can vary, being as low as two or as high as multiple dozen. During a match, crowds of passenger randomly cross the court, exiting between the train or the train station and moving towards the other direction. Passengers can appear on either player's side of the court, or on both sides at once, but always moving in a single direction.

Each passenger acts as a solid obstacle blocking a player's movement. Any balls that hit a passenger are slowed down significantly, and redirected, but still go towards the opponent's side. The racket-holding Shy Guy passengers are also able to hit the ball back towards the player as a topspin shot, while also creating a star point.

Passengers appear in the Adventure mode mission One versus...One?.
