It appears in the Game Boy Color game Mario Tennis and Game Boy Advance game, Mario Tennis: Power Tour as the court used in the Island Open. After beating the Island Open, Alex, Nina, Clay and Ace move on to the Peach Tournament. In all the games, it is a light green court made of grass, taking place in a large stadium.

History[edit]

Mario Tennis series[edit]

Mario Tennis (Nintendo 64)[edit]

This court appears in the Nintendo 64 game Mario Tennis, where it has a weak bounce with fast shots. It is used in the Star Cup and Planet Cup.

Mario Tennis (Game Boy Color)[edit]

The Grass Court reappears in the Game Boy Color version of Mario Tennis, and is used in the Island Open. It shares the same bounce and ball speed as its Nintendo 64 counterpart.

Mario Power Tennis / New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis[edit]

In Mario Power Tennis, the Grass Court is one of the three courts in Peach Dome. The ball speed is fast while the bounce is weak. The standard mode is the default mode, but players can also play in ring match or item battles. The Star Cup and Planet Cup tournaments take place in the Grass Court.

Mario Tennis: Power Tour[edit]

The Grass Court appears in Mario Tennis: Power Tour and is once again used for the Island Open, just like the Game Boy Color variant. It has a slightly different appearance in the Island Open, lacking the white arch on the back wall seen in exhibition games.

Mario Tennis Open[edit]

In Mario Tennis Open, the Grass Court appears as one of the courses in Mario Stadium. The Champions Cup finals take place in this court.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash[edit]

The Grass Court is one of the default selectable court skins in Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash. It features high ball speed and low ball bounce, essentially serving as a slower Carpet Court.

Mario Tennis Aces[edit]

Marina Stadium in Mario Tennis Aces includes a grass court variant with the similar attributes the other grass courts have: very fast ball speed with normal bounce. It is used in the Mushroom Cup.

Mario Tennis Fever[edit]

The Stadium Court in Mario Tennis Fever features a grass surface as one of its three available types. It has a fast ball speed (4/5) and a very low bounce (1/5). The Mushroom Cup is played on this court.

Mario Sports Superstars[edit]

The Grass Court returns in the tennis mode of Mario Sports Superstars and is used in the Mushroom Cup. It features high ball speed with a low bounce.
