Immobilized, also known as paralyzed, is a status ailment in the Paper Mario series.

In the first Paper Mario, immobilization is an uncommon status effect, and it has two variants (which have different icons, and different success rates depending on the target enemy, but the same effect): 'paralysis' (indicated by a lightning bolt icon, and inflicted solely by Watt's electric moves, Power and Mega Shock) and 'immobilization' (indicated by a clock icon, and inflicted solely by the Stop Watch item and Klevar's Time Out ability). While paralyzed/immobilized, the victim is unable to do anything for one or more turns.

This status effect reappeared in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, under a sole name: immobilization. This time, it can be inflicted with the Stop Watch item, and the ability Clock Out; the latter of which can affect either the enemy party, Mario and his partner, or even the audience. It has a lower chance of working on bosses or stronger enemies; for example, it only has a 50% chance of working on Magnus von Grapple, while Crazee Dayzees have only a 30% chance and Bill Blasters are immune[1]. X-Yuxes are capable of immobilizing Mario and his partner with their beam attacks, as are Atomic Boos with their Boo-summoning technique and Sir Grodus with his magic.

Enemies like the Pokey's topple or Bowser's swat attack can get Mario crumpled. The POW Block can also give this status effect to enemies.

Mario can get the soggy status from Cheep Cheeps, the Big Cheep Cheep mini-boss's water-spit attack, and Petey Piranha's goo attack.

The Clip Guys are the only enemy to give Mario the Clipped status. If the Clip Guy is successful, it will trap Mario and his HP bar will shake.
