Troublesome Toad
| It has been suggested that this page be split into stack of Toads, Creased Toad (Water's Edge Way character). Reason: The parade shows two creased Toads, and the second appearance of this character has them start out without the crease they should have gained in their first appearance. Turns out, the similar events are just a crazy coincidence! (discuss) |
The title of this article is conjectural; an official name for the article's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors.
If an acceptable name is found, then the article should be moved to the new title.

The Troublesome Toad is a character in Paper Mario: Sticker Star, who appears in World 1. He is a Toad with a habit of inadvertently getting into trouble. He crashes into Mario twice in the world, dropping an useful item he found both times. He is best identified by the crease on his head he gets after caused by ramming into Mario.
History[edit]
In Warm Fuzzy Plains, this Toad and his four friends are hunting for stickers. He wanders far from the group and finds a rare Scissors sticker, only for Bowser Jr. to pursue him for it. As the Toad runs away, backward through Warm Fuzzy Plains, he crashes into Mario just before latter reaches a bridge stretching across the nearby river. Both characters fall over, the collision creasing the Toad's head and making him drop the sticker. He quickly gets up, before Mario does, unsuccessfully tries to fix the crease, then warns Mario about how Bowser Jr. is chasing him. He hopes Mario can help, then runs further backward. This sets up Bowser Jr's first battle with Mario over the rare sticker.
This Toad runs back to his friends located at the beginning of the course, driving them into a panic. They all retreat back to the start of the course, but this Toad hides behind some bushes. When Mario returns and talks to this Toad, he assumes Mario beat Bowser Jr. Mario tells him the bridge is gone (since Bowser Jr. tore the Wooden Bridge from the course and tossed it onto a cliff too high to jump to.), and this Toad decides to rally his friends to help fix it. All five of them stack up and join Mario, so Mario can lead them to the bridge. If he leaves Warm Fuzzy Plains, the Toads choose stay in the course until Mario returns.
At the scene with the bridge, the Toad recognizes that Mario has to collect the crumbled up Wooden Bridge from the cliff. The Toads telescope upward, standing on each others' heads with this Toad at the top, then bend to form a staircase up the cliff. Once the Wooden Bridge is collected, the stairs fall apart. All the Toads get up, and then this Toad says that he is glad they could help. His friends head backward through the course and back to where they started, while this Toad stays in the current scene. He wonders if a sticker similar to the one he had would have a high value.
In Water's Edge Way, a Toad who is heavily implied to be this Toad picks up an album page while walking around. Kamek finds him and tries to confiscate the page. The Toad runs away, and Kamek chases him backward through the course. This Toad does not recognize Kamek though. The Toad runs into Mario just as the latter is about to cross another bridge over a river. The Toad lacks the crease when arriving, but when the two collide they are both knocked out and the Toad's head is creased. Kersti gets a strong sense of deja vu from this event. Just the same, he tells Mario why he believes he followed, though he does not believe he did anything wrong. He asks Mario to take the album page then hands Mario it before getting a response, and finally retreats slightly backward into the scene. This sets up Kamek's first battle with Mario, as he shows up following the Toad when Mario crosses the bridge and stops to fight Mario. The Toad remains in this scene for the rest of the game. If spoken to, he admits he has a tendency to get into trouble and apologizes for getting him involved.
In the parade at the Sticker Fest, the first of the two floats themed after World 1 includes two Toads with creases.
